@ivory Delight-Request for the hashtag suggestions: keep track of what hashtags I regularly use and prioritize those. Other people don’t share my perfectionism when typing 😄

My has been sick lately and they can’t quite pinpoint what’s going on.

I know, she’s 17 1/2… but I’ll never be ready for ‘that day’.

It’s been expensive, very expensive, but she’s worth it. She’s stable - just some lab work and symptoms that are unusual.

She’s been my little everything my entire adult life. We have a special bond.

We’re going to the vet again tomorrow for more tests — could you please keep my lil Mac in your thoughts? She’s the bestest baby.

Buddy on Boxes 📦

Buddy’s back on a cardboard box loafing. This time it’s on a much taller one containing bags of kitty litter, so it’s nice and sturdy and the perfect size for a normal size cat. He’s chubby though, so he overflows a bit. The box is situated in front of a large floor to ceiling window so he has a nice view of the garden. His eyes are closed though. He looks at peace.
Buddy is sitting on the floor, but really close to a cardboard box that used to hold a BluRay player. His front paws are resting on the top, and he’s looking straight at the camera. He had been sitting like this for long enough that I thought it was worthy of a photo. Being off the floor is the best. Even if it’s just partially.

@chucker @stroughtonsmith The final product is ~6 months away, I think the hardware guts is set in stone at this point. My guess is that they’re doing all they can to take focus off the Achilles heel - weight/strain, until there’s a lot of interesting software ready to outweigh it (no pun intended).

The Girl graced me with her presence for a few minutes. Until she spotted a wagtail outside.

A closeup of the previous photo, but this time her eyes are more open. She’s seen something.
She’s now lying close to a floor to ceiling window. She is pushing the vertical blinds aside so she can have a good look at what’s going on outside. There was a wagtail, but it’s now gone. I wonder what scared it away.

My best friend went to sleep for the last time today. Loden was part of the family for the last 14 years and my coworker for the last three.

He was brave and battled his cancer up until the end.

Aw shucks. Just discovered the photos I’ve been saving from @ivory over the past million years are low res versions.. Fuuuuu..
Never assume, I guess. 😔

If you use , and want to save the full quality picture, don’t use the “Save Image” option, use “Share” and then pick “Save Image” from there. I hope it’s a bug but I can see how it’s a design decision. 🤷‍♂️

Man I’m devastated. Never assume!!

Update: It seems to be instance/post related. If it’s a bug, @ivory, I have an example post for you.

@ivory It’s the same dimensions for me too, but the file size is different and zooming in on it shows how the little guys’ whiskers got lost in compression 😄 (see video). Just mentioning it if you didn’t notice it. If not, yes, I guess it could be an instance thing. It doesn’t happen with some other instances.

Maybe the mastodon.world instance has recompressed it since it was originally posted and the 3.6MB one I'm allowed to save using the Share option is a photo cached either locally by Ivory or maybe by my mastodon.nu instance.. Sheesh. Well, you've done what you could - thank you!

@ivory It’s consistent for me. This one’s (currently) 7 hrs old: https://mastodon.world/@katskitties/110856601838334807 both pics save in the same pixel dimensions, but using the long-press “Save Image” option instead of long-press “Share” -> “Save Image” always saves a compressed ~half bytesize version.
In your code, you must be handing a full size file/url over to the Share sheet that isn’t the same as the one you’re using to save to Photos? 🤷‍♂️
