    So Elon Musk is "rebranding Twitter" as X by using a new logo and redirecting x.com to twitter.com.

    BUT, 1) they're not moving Twitter posts to the x.com domain; so 2) twitter.com is still the default functional domain for the service; meaning 3) everyone's going to keep calling it Twitter.

    Maybe I'm wrong, but that doesn't sound like a rebranding that's likely to succeed. Unless Musk is actually attempting the converse -- rebranding X as Twitter?

It should be obvious to anyone who can do simple math that such candidates have zero chances of being elected but would take precious votes away from . . Period. It worked in 2018, 2020 and 2022.     It's the year 2073.

    The Justice Department is reported to be investigating an investigation of the investigation into the original investigation of Donald J. Trump.

    Trump, long since dead, fights on through a codicil of his will that appointed a small cabal of close advisors, their descendants, and their descendants, who carry forth the mission to fight, deny and obstruct.

Instead, they are focused on trying to reclaim the desert tundra around Baffin Bay in an attempt to grow some meager crops for distribution.

    It is the year 2073, Donald J. Trump is long since dead, but the legal story goes on. Forever.

    Quite appropriate. The contains tales of incest, polygamy, slavery, homicide, torture, civilian massacres and animal abuse. It depicts an ancient, barbaric and superstitious society. Having read it as an adult in its entirety, I consider it wholly inappropriate for children (and of exclusively historical interest for adults). If we're going to ban , start with it.

    It's hard to understand. Is purposely trying to destroy ? Does he think he can pull off a right wing takeover of social media as did for TV AND make money in the process? (hint: the audience for right wing crackpot propaganda is significant but not growing, and everyone else will just be turned off) or is he so blinded by his ego that he doesn't realize he's not as smart and powerful as he thinks he is?

    A fascinating piece on a recent BBC science hour podcast described a study on why people vote the way they do. The result was unsurprising to anyone with an understanding of human biology. Social approval by a peer group is more important than evidence for most voters. If someone one's church all votes MAGA, that person is more likely to vote with them. We are highly tribal social animals, and what our tribe does is very important to many of us.

    Kevin McCarthy and Republicans in the House have proposed deep cuts to:

    -Medicaid
    -Veterans' health care
    -Assistance for families in need

    It's not just bad policy, it's downright cruel.
