Was just browsing bsky’s open feed to see how that works and within 3 clicks I was back on mstdn :blobhappy:

To be honest I find Bsky still so messy, not only the code build up but also the platform itself

My guess is that people find it ‘more easy’ compared to Mastodon for example because you’ll be signing up on their server by default

Not sure if that’s a good thing though

I don’t pay much attention to follower counts, but I realized I'm not far off from 10,000 which is bizarre for an average middle aged woman with no notable credentials or claim to fame, so I think it would be funny if I could hit 10,000; especially after that guy let me know he unfollowed me because he didn't like my dumb boner joke just so we can all be like TAKE THAT!

There are loads of brilliant third party apps which work with your existing Mastodon account.

Unlike Twitter, Facebook etc, Mastodon uses open standards, which means third party apps can do everything the official apps do and more.

There are links to third party apps on the official Mastodon site, just scroll down past the official ones:

Mastodon improving the onboard experience is great. The wannabe fedi-police will be out in force against a default instance i’ve no doubt and I’ve already seen numerous complaints about it.

It’s not “growth for the sake of growth” or against the idea of decentralisation. It’s just a small basic change to improve the flow for new people to get people started. Good stuff.
