He would only see women as mating partners. (Same mindset of anyone who says "all women love me" or "I know how to talk to any black person"... Seeing people as monolithic, pigeonholed "others".)

The same dude bro mindset who reduce women who cannot reproduce (various cancers have this as an outcome) as "not wife material".

He passed away, so I can call him an asshole all I want now to everyone I know. While he was alive, I was pushed to backpedal by friends and relatives, "he's trying", "he's not as smart as you, give him some credit".

No, he was a dick. I was his friend because there was literally no one else in my neighborhood my age to be around. (And it was the 90s. I was as informed on transmisia as any kid who watched Sifl and Olly.)

@RickiTarr What makes me sad: Paramount+ ending series with less promised new works in the pipeline. At their peak, five series at a time per year. Now, I'm not sure that will ever happen again. (They clearly aren't interested in elevating one series to a full season commitment of 23 episodes. That would at least be a sign of good faith if they can't run more than a couple of shows.)

What doesn't make me sad: Faith of The Heart. I still love Enterprise, even if the presence of theme song lyrics made it weird.

I know everyone hates AI and I get it, I really do. I'm not trying to diminish people's concerns. All I'm saying is I tried a month of Midjorney to see what all the fuss was about and I blew through my credits in two days generating pictures of people covered in spaghetti.

So perhaps this is a cautionary tale after all.

I don't know why restrooms are so fucking hard.

Solution for restroom problems via politics when your business doesn't have the funds/space to redo it:

  1. Put up a Round Bathroom sign with a man, woman, child inside it on all restrooms. If people seem confused, a nameplate that says "Unisex Bathroom" should straighten it up. If not, you got smart customers.
  2. Install a door lock (one sided with a service pin release in case someone locks themselves in and doesn't respond), and sufficient amenities for any biological need for anyone at any age.
  3. There is no step 3.

Men who need to go and the traditional 'Men's Room' being occupied can simply use the other one. Women don't need to rush while using an empty men's room in fear that a man is waiting when she's through. If there's baby stations, any bathroom can be a family bathroom if you lock the door. Bathroom has a tampon dispenser and a 'men can' next to your toilet? If you don't have the associated parts, simply ignore them.

Odd. Got a package I never ordered from Amazon. Odd stuff: fitness accessories (women’s yoga clothes, stretching straps, swimsuit both men’s and women’s, a Golf Bag rain hood…) and an indescribable box of plastic pieces that look like table skirt clips except there’s adhesive on one side and it can’t “clamp” to a table at all.

Apple has released the Apple Pencil USB-C for iPad 10th Gen for $79... which is essentially the same device as the Logitech Crayon USB-C. Except the Apple Pencil magnetically attaches to the iPad when not in use. If you wanna save $10, just get the Crayon.

After panning the Humane AI Pin, a MKBHD review of Rabbit R1 had the same conclusion even at $200 and no monthly sub needed: don't buy a product based on a feature roadmap, buy it based on what it can do today.

And what the Rabbit R1 can do today... is very little and just as erroneous as the Humane Pin. Same as that device, he suggests holding off.

I think it is safe to say that MS, Apple and Google are likely not going to release competitor hardware in the AI hardware space just yet.

A lot of iterations and venture capital will need to make these find any direction at all, if not a pivot away from public sector to specialized use (Remember GoTenna? Now unless you are a military contractor, they're done with hikers and outdoors people.)

My insurance rates shot up, I'm paying almost double for home and auto. Bundling discounts become meaningless when rate increases on renewals overtake the discount entirely. Big whoop I save 12% when I'm paying 70% higher rates. But at least they didn't cancel.
