Woke from my nap to a plate with fried chicken strips, baked mac-n-cheese, rice with pan gravy and a biscuit — all homemade.

I did Sister a pretty big favor this week, and she showed her thanks.

Last time I had a meal like that, I made it for Mom and me. She died 16 months ago.

    📷 Morning, y'all. Woke to a different-sounding plop-plop from rain on the gutters outside my window. Or was I still dreaming?

    Put coffee on, let Jack out for quick minute and remembered—BIL cleaned the gutters last week. They were overflowing with whatever fills gutters. So now they play a different tune. That's cool AF.

    Out front, a big, low-lying bare patch of yard just off the porch attracts freshly-fallen rain. It's a puddle, it's a party!
