I was messing with #calckey over the past few days. I really prefer the UI over there, but I don't want to leave this server or the people who follow me on Mastodon. I'm hoping #Mastodon borrows some of the great UI attention from Calckey.

I don't have the answer here and I'm not even asking for comments. Just something that has been heavy on my mind recently.

It feels like daily we are bandwagon canceling companies, apps, people, restaurants, servers, news outlets. I'm not saying this is bad at all, put our money, time, ad dollars, behind things we believe in or stand up to things we are against. Makes sense to me.

The other side of my brain feels like we need to clam down a bit and take a chill pill.

Isn't there a way to follow Twitter accounts in Mastodon? Like there's a weather guy I follow who is only on Twitter. I would like to be able to see his posts from Twitter on Mastodon. Is that possible?

Is there any way to just make the center feed wider on the web version of Mastodon? I kind of just want to use the offical version but the column wdth so narrow, it bothers me for some reason.

My #googlefi updated 4.

Well it is not looking great for keeping Google Fi as our phone service. Speeds are great. Coverage is fairly good. Not as good as Cricket but ok.

The main issue is, my wife and I have had to restart our phones a few times each to regain service, on seperate times of the day in a one week period. The phone says no service, even though we do have service there. The problem is resolved as soon we restart our phones. Working with support.

Does anyone else secretly wish #mastodon and #fediverse had better names?

I feel like this issue comes up a lot in real world conversations. I'm slightly, very very slightly, worried that #Threads could get a boost from better naming.

Just to be clear, I love Mastodon and want it to do great.

I've been spending my time in the #fediverse but have still kept the #Twitter app on my phone for checking in on some applications I follow over there. The X name change is really just a dumb pointless move that doesn't affect me at all, but it its just dumb enough to convince me to uninstall the app this morning.

Only one step left, which is deleting my account. We shall see how much longer I can hold out before doing so.
