🤦🏻‍♀️ Hur had nothing. GOP Fascist Party has nothing. They’re in office only to harass, troll, terrorize, and do everything they can to undermine Biden, Dems, the Constitution, democracy.

“House Republicans have reached out to special counsel Robert Hur to discuss having him testify in front of the House Judiciary Committee about his report on President ’s handling of classified documents”

https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/12/politics/house-republicans-robert-hur?cid=ios_app

JorgeStolfi,
@JorgeStolfi@mas.to avatar

@GottaLaff

That is just untrue. The Republicans DID do a great service to democracy. With two years of thorough investigations, Comer and the House Oversight committee have managed to prove that Joe Biden is the most honest politician to ever run for President of the US.

It turns out that the actions of Gary Gensler, the SEC Chair, were instrumental in ensuring the collapse of FTX did not turn into a broader financial meltdown. Democrats govern. https://www.economicliberties.us/our-work/gary-gensler-got-it-right/#

JorgeStolfi,
@JorgeStolfi@mas.to avatar

@RealJournalism

I can give SOME credit to Gensler for his long resistance to crypto ETFs. Which however crumbled shortly after that article was written: now we have half a dozen crypto ETFs approved by the SEC.

But he should have done much more. Cryptos are OBVIOUSLY securities, and OBVIOUSLY Ponzi schemes. So the SEC should have banned their trade back in 2010, and prosecuted criminally all the promoters, oeprators, and traders. 🧵‍>

Is this normal? All my life I directly remembered only a handful of years of my personal events. Like my birth year (1950), when I started college (1969), when I married and moved to the US (1979), when I moved from Xerox PARC to DEC SRC (1985), when I came back to Brazil (1992) and a handful more after that. For all other events -- when I got my PhD, became head of Dept, moved to current home, etc -- I always had go start from one of those dates and count the years, every time. ...🧵‍>

A former POTUS and current frontrunner for the Republican ticket, already found legally responsible for fraud and rape and the holder of a record 91 felony counts, encouraged Russia to attack our NATO allies.

If Trump isn’t a paid tool for Putin, he’s doing it for free. Either way, it’s unhinged.

Trump says he'd encourage Russia to attack NATO allies who don't pay their bills:

@SteveRogers @TonyStark

He is clearly a Putin asset, since before he decided to run for President.

He had a project to build a "Trump Tower" in Moscow. IIRC, the penthouse would have been a gift to Putin. Why is no one mentioning that project anymore? Who was going to finance it? Did he borrow a couple billion from Russian oligarchs?

BREAKING: Major accident barely avoided at Chicago Airport. Thankfully, the plane landed whole and no casualties have been reported. FAA spokesman says investigations are still underway, but suggests that a major contributing factor may have been the fact that all the air traffic controllers who had been communicating with the pilots were incapacitated, rolling on the floor with uncontrollable bouts of hysterical laughter.

Amendment 14 to the US Constitution applies to "officer of the United States, or under any State" in general, but then lists explicitly several posts, namely "Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President" and "a member of any State legislature, or [ ] an executive or judicial officer of any State".

Notably absent from the explicit list is "President or Vice-President", as well as "Governor or Vice-Governor". 🧵‍>

Amy Castor and @davidgerard report on the Texas coalition against wasting 1.7 GW of power from the grid at obscenely subsidized prices, thus extending the life of fossil fuel burning stations, and 1.4 M gallons of cooling water per day while Texans are asked to conserve water, in order to lose investors' money by operating the biggest ponzi and money laundering network ever: https://amycastor.com/2023/10/23/texans-versus-bitcoin-jackie-sawicky-and-the-texas-coalition-against-cryptomining/

By the way, the "immersion cooling" discussion is based on obfuscation by Riot. Immersion cooling is more efficient at pulling heat from the chips, but the liquid or vapor still must be cooled by water or air. If the chips consume 1 GW of electricity, then at least 1 GW of heat will end up in the air or water, whether immersion cooling is used or not. Thus they will pull and heat up those 1.4 million gal/day of water either way.

In case people haven't noticed, the cesspool formerly known as Twitter no longer has the option to see in Notifications only replies to my posts and citations of my name. Instead it has a "For you" stream that mixes that with unrelated posts that the platform selected by some algorithm.

Amid the incessant stream of bitcoiner spam, it just made me read three tweets by Scott "Dilbert" Adams, complaining that "cancel culture" has "neutered" American "males", and promising a reaction...
