I googled “autism and traumatic brain injury” hoping to find something about living with both at the same time.

ALL the results were studies done to see if TBIs cause autism. 😒

Not one article, reddit post, quora post, was about living with both. Ugh.

    @aetataureate Non drinker here. Stopped drinking at 22, now 56.
    Some drinkers are quite challenged by the decision to not partake and I've had people attempt to coerce me verbally or even force a drink into my hand. I've been asked what was wrong with me, been accused of being boring and told "one f*****g drink won't kill you!".

    I've also had very drunk people approach me at social events to apologise for how wasted they are and admit they wish they could be "more like me".

    Alcohol is the shittest drug.

    What blows my mind about Capitalism is the fact that somebody who grew commercial quantities of tomatoes realised that people could grow their own tomatoes by using the seeds from the tomatoes he grew.
    So he had scientists genetically engineer tomato strains he could grow that produced seeds that were unviable.
    And, for money, the scientists did that.

    little story for tonight.

    while i was goofing around with , I ended up searching for some old Simpsons icons for my classic Macintosh (an LC 475), and stumbled upon an entry on the garden called Banned Simpsons Icons. (Who could resist downloading something with a title like that?)

    They were called the "Banned Simpsons Icons" because Fox once sent the artist - Jeanette Foshee - a cease & desist letter for her uncannily perfect renderings of the copyrighted characters. they planned on suing her for every penny she made ($0.00) on them. this was back in 1995.

    i thought - hell, what a wild story. why don't I get a hold of the artist - jeanette - and find out more about her banned icon set?

    what i stumbled upon broke my heart, and i ended up spending a week digitally preserving what i could find.

    It was amazing to me that briefly, Capitalism made chefs some of the most important people in the world who had all manner of ordinary bootlickers sucking up to them and thinking them exceptional.
