What is the purpose of the "Actually" in the #ActuallyAutistic hashtag I keep seeing? Seems to imply there's some not actually autistic people that the writer is distinguishing themselves from?

@http_error_418 It's to distinguish between people who are autistic & people who are in the autism community but aren't autistic themselves (e.g. parents & doctors). From what I understand, the latter have had a tendency to talk over autistic people so the hashtag allows autistic people to have their own voice & converse with other autistics.
It's not gatekeeping autistic people or pitting them against each other.

Packed a suitcase methodically from a list over the course of the day. Just found out the suitcase I picked has a big gouge out of the exterior from the last trip it took so I've had to move everything to a different suitcase. Now I feel like I've packed in a hurry & am definitely missing something. Fecking travel stress. 🤯

There's a lot of concern about big tech companies that there is "promo obsession," where employees only care about getting promoted. I don't believe in promo obsession. First attempt with two continuous tunsgten lights. I've used the second to accentuate the hair with a pink gel, but in hindsight, maybe should've used it for fill to reduce the contrast on the shadows.

ok, so my sons bought a heavily discounted "smart" #tv last xmas. a TCL with Roku plastered all over the box.

is there a way to root these tvs and wipe their OS?

rooting and changing the OS of smart anything, especially phones, need to be at the center of the right to repair movement, not just getting access to software drivers or hardware.

PS: i have avoided activating the Roku nonsense exactly for what the article describes.

If the country you live in decides to exit the EU, then my advice (as an EU citizen who is realising she really should have left the UK as soon as the referendum was announced) is to run rather than walk.
The longer you leave it, the greater the pain will be. They won't know how their own processes are supposed to work & they won't have enough resources to figure them out because everyone useful will have already left or burned out.

For some reason, Wordpress weirdly forgot how to title posts clearly.

Instead of the opaque, milquetoast ”More Control Over the Content You Share”, which is really about opting out of sharing content with AI model trainers, why didn't Wordpress use titles like these?

  • Excluding your Content from AI Training
  • Opting Out from AI Training

Oh wait, this is a rhetorical question.

The choice of title is a signal and a sign of underlying intent.
