Still haven't gone to bed? @Lstn2urmama
I'm up a bit early, but well rested. By dark tonight, I'll be a zombie.

Feeling pretty good this morning, mentally & physically. I had a brief Jog yesterday, 1st time I've run, even to the curb, in 20 years. My knees are not swollen, my body isn't as stiff as it usually is when I wake. I usually have to stretch out to move when I wake.
I actually felt like running again, but then I remember, I'm old. LOL

Groceries are expensive enough, and we don't dine out, and rarely get take-out. Coming back from the bank, I thought I would get my wife and I a milkshake. WOW, it's been awhile. I was shocked at the price. Two small, $14 . 🤯

Rasta, to ADHD

Relax.. I'll be brief, nothing over a few pages, hardly a thread. 😉

It's probably just swings, but 2023 has been the year of the for me. I can't read. I know how, but I can't make it happen. School might have been different, if I could have read all those books?

I was in the Navy, when the term ADHD was invented. And before I left, they had labeled me thus. Most of my technical background was books. But they weren't story books. Specs, Details, Operation & bits

Rasta, (edited ) to apple

The one on the left, is from a wild tree. Picked it on the road. There's no field, no building, just an apple tree on the shoulder of the road.

The one on the right is $1.50/lb from the store. I like the wild one best. I'd like to graft a piece of this tree, it's bug free, tart and crisp.

My orchard was bare this year, but an unloved orphan on the highway has such a tasty apple

Not many people use a PC anymore, do they?

I still never got the hang of Mobile Phones.
I can't do the big things on a phone that I'm used to doing on a large screen desktop PC.

I was doing some research today, even to step away, I had to leave all the Tabs open on the browser, and to show my wife something I found, took 2 min of opening and closing Tabs to find it.

I'm expecting to be researching a few more hours today but I need another tab, so I'm closing Social Media shortly..

Rasta, to snowboarding

Oh my, it's wet and sticky snow.
Heavy to shovel in the morning.
The commute will be sloppy, get up early, clear all your windows, and allow extra time. You know there will be accidents! 🤣 glad I don't have to drive, but t have to shovel.
I should slow pace myself and do a little before bedtime. @capla Want some?
Have I got a deal for you? Take it all!
Come @tc_morekindness , it's time to sing our Sia song, and build a snowman or woman

A sample video taken at night, after the snow has been coming down for the last hour. It's not overly deep, but it covers everything, wet and sticky. You see reflections of Christmas lights and decorations my wife has put on the hedge, and in my driveway you see WAYCTV (The abbreviation and hashtag for, when are you coming to visit?)

Rasta, to ADHD

I love paying bills before daylight. No one is up to distract me, and I had large Property Taxes to pay before the end of the month, by phone (there's no cellular here)

Besides keeping a record of bills and payments, budgeting and planning, this is the only clear-thinking time of the day for me. All this stuff goes through my head at 4 am, which is why I got up.

Is there anyone else, with , that find the morning to be the most productive time of the day?

Rasta, to ai

I forgot to save my descriptions.

Sometimes, I tell a little story, early in the morning, before I do other things. I was building images to match.

HOW FAR BACK, CAN YOU REMEMBER, AS A CHILD?
I was 3 in this story, Ontario, and as a background for those who don't know me, I was then, also. It's important to wear down my excess energy, I used to run 10 miles before work, to spare my co-workers. My father used to walk me around.
AI put a little boy (me) ON tracks!

Cult Christmas Music in this house is killing me.
My wife loves Hallmark Christmas Movies.

I could just throw up. I've put on brown noise, and went to lay on the sofa, to drown it out.

I can't get away from that annoying childish fantasy that older Christ Child, in a red suit, is coming soon, with toys he didn't buy.

Can't wait for Easter, when the Bunny Disciple will crucify Santa and put him out of his misery

I'm disappointed by false faith.

Rasta, to music

I was in an Irish Pub one St. Patricks Day and I knew the local performers. They were playing Irish Music and taking requests.

I said, "How about some Irish Reggae?",
... and everyone laughed ❓ ...

The disaster

As I watched the 25th anniversary service yesterday, I remember where I was then:

As a senior Navy member, I was standing Base Chief Duty Watch at (CFB ) Stadacona.

A nervous junior officer was with me. I told him to step out for a smoke, I'd be fine without him. I've been standing this watch on & off for 16 years..

And that's when the phone rang

The famous Peggys Cove Lighthouse, with waves crashing against the smooth worn rock that the lighthouse is on The light is turning, just to the right of center looking out on St Margaret's Bay, this is where the airliner SwissAir111 went down. This entire area was ships and search helicopters and fishing boats, in a traumatic recovery that would haunt us all

Another item I miss from my Navy days: I can't find a yellow, wooden handle, non-folding, utility knife?

In the Navy 🎶, the deck department used these for rope work. You could hammer the flat side to chip or cut clean, heat to melt poly-rope ends and scrape for years after they were dull.

It's been 15 years since I saw them. I could use another, but even Amazon doesn't list them. Most utility knives are folding now, not of this general quality.
Someone sells them. apparently?

$12.99 for 2kg at Walmart. Still none in stock, here's 4KG, and when you hoard it, it will jump again.

@Pierrette In case you are late to my storytelling, I freak people out, knowing things they forget they mentioned publically. People think I have a fantastic memory, but I take notes.. It's how I deal with my . I don't need to reread them sometimes, if I write them once. I learned the first 3 verses of the Robert W. Service poem, The Cremation of Sam McGee, having heard it only once, and wrote it down. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/45081/the-cremation-of-sam-mcgee Decades later, I got the reading again for fun

Our summer home has many smoke detectors. Once, we had series ones, no longer available, that if one went off in the basement, every floor went off too. Brilliant. Can't get them now.
All batteries get damp, it's been a wet year, and we're on the ocean. They beep until the fire is heating the house, then stop. But, I take one at a time to another room, if it's not the one, I repeat with each.

Rasta, (edited ) to Travel

How long does it take you to plan a trip?

I've jumped in the car before, and just drove to Niagara Falls, but that's rare as I get older.

I pre-plan trips (even short ones) up to a year before I take them (or maybe don't ever take them)
I travel with cats, so cat-friendly (not pet friendly) motels must be found, areas of interest along the way and people we might meet or visit. Cost of gas, budget.. It's extensive preparation.

Rasta, to food

Lunchtime. I'm late, it takes me 30 minutes to prepare salads, and I was posting stuff and started late.

In the summer, I make a different salad every day, in the city, but if we don't use up some romaine and baby spinach, it will spoil.

Usually in cooler weather, I make hot lunches. I build each different from the day before. You'll never hear a disappointed, "What? Salad again?", because tomorrow's won't have the same ingredients.

Salads are my favorite foods.

If today was your last day at work, and they just said, "Hey Man, you've been a great employee, just pick something off the wall to take with you", which guitar out of the whole store, would you pick? What is it?"

Which one would you pick? 🤔
