I love how easy it was to incorporate Mastodon into my application. I'm using it for alerting me to problems and milestones. Pretty neat. Mastonet is pretty great.

I have some feelings about today.

It feels like the past is being tossed out for being too heavy and eroding while the future is still a work in progress.

I can imagine it’s hard for teams to figure out where to invest their efforts since it’s all a gamble right now.

Stay on ASP.NET Core MVC or start moving to Minimal APIs and hope there are no feature gaps? Maybe Blazor v3 is it? Move to MAUI and hope the bugs get sorted? What’s the desktop story? Is the OSS ecosystem OK?

I'm looking for book bloggers/reviewers/people to follow. Someone who reads and posts a lot about speculative fiction, mystery, crime, thrillers... dark and gritty... thoughtful, clever stuff... whatever will blow my mind. The more they fall between genres, the better. Newer releases rather than old.

I set up a Pi-Hole hosted on a raspberry pi on my network today. It is pretty neat. And it was super easy to set up.

Now all my devices have ad blocking without having to use plugins or any of that nonsense.

@kevbob wow. Gidgets dna came back as primarily chihuahua with poodle mixed in and a bunch of other stuff. She’s about seven pounds, loves to play fetch, and is the most vocal dog I’ve even had. She is always grumbling and whatnot.

@kevbob Yes. Gidget also will bark at other dogs and people sometime if they approach her yard. She isn’t aggressive other than barking her head off when she gets excited.

And she loves chasing wildlife. I was worried for her a couple times when she took off after a flock of turkeys who outweigh her I’m sure and a coyote once (thank goodness the coyote was skittish).

But she is the best. I’m so happy she is in my life.
