@mrcompletely I had to look up so much from the floor that it may have balanced my neck from years of looking down at my phone. It’s really a challenge for the “close your eyes and dance” folks. I kept wanting to take it all in but it’s not really my style to look at the lights. Warms my heart to read how much Trey appreciates the dance energy. My legs feel like they have ankle weights on today. We threw it down on that floor. The car wash is crazy on the clips I’ve seen. (1/2)

CA is really stupid. It’s dumping money into shelters that are abysmal & not a stepping stone to housing for people who want it. Many of those homeless don’t WANT to be housed, yet, that’s where they sink $$. Cause those are the homeless people complain about. But they take away programs that can help people that are trying desperately to be housed. My city only had a “safe parking” program for a few winter months. Now the only 1 in the county is exclusive to 1 town’s pop. Criminalized poverty 😡

@DEDGirl @ai6yr We also need to stop treating hardcore meth and fentanyl addicts like folks just down on their luck needing housing. They need well funded, well staffed, state if the art, real treatment centers. Involuntary if necessary. Those problems have become everyone’s problems.

@DEDGirl @ai6yr I’m sorry to hear that. To be clear I don’t know the exact answer. Just watching the billions wasted year after year in California as the problem grows. In eureka they’re being put into housing originally built for homeless veterans and making the situation untenable for two groups of people instead of just one. Lots of money given to just exist on the streets. (1/2)

California feels like the incubation zone for people’s well meaning, unproven and ill fated plans that cost billions with little to no results. This new meth and fentanyl are entirely new animals. I’m in favor of radical treatment options. Ketamine, mushrooms, anything but money and a tent or housing facilities without addiction staffing. (2/2)

It’s really hard for understandable reasons that people who have been repeatedly reinfected do not want to hear or think about the consequences, but we can’t just keep ignoring these findings. It’s not sustainable.

@bbiiirdbPhD @msquebanh Explained this to a teacher’s aid I work with. She told me how she’s constantly sick and missing big chunks of work the last two years. Then went on to say how she never used to miss anytime before the pandemic. She somehow had not made the connection in her head yet. When I asked she said she’d had Covid twice. “I’m not a doctor, but let me explain what is going on here”.

So, I'm a state of deep and increasing skepticism about the Threads integration, but I'm leaving the channel open for awhile to make a slow and considered decision about the impact. So far I have a lot of ambiguous thoughts but this post is about the reappearance via threads of the toxic Twitter behavior known as the "quote tweet dunk" and especially the QTD RT, where someone flexes their own QTD on some mook via a boost/RT. It's shitty and I'm blocking the people who do it.
