Earlier today I found a playing card on the floor under an antique desk. A king of clubs. No idea how it got there but maybe it was stuck to the bottom of the desk and fell off. There’s no deck of cards to be found anywhere. A random event, sure, but I enjoy symbolism and had to look it up. 🧐 ♣️

Normally my morning walks are uneventful, just passing the usual suburbanites out with their kids and dogs.
Today I encountered this fella along with his grandson using a net to catch small fish in the lake.

(This is a no no really; fish were too small + the use of a net. But I didn’t feel like scolding anyone.)

Burrowing Owl ~ Florida.

Several of them decided to nest on and beside a county baseball diamond. Since they were an endangered species the field had to be shut down until they moved on. They took their good time - about 2 years before relocating.

I attached a 50 year old 200mm Zuiko lens to a digital Fuji X-Pro1 body (w / adapter). Mr. Owl waited patiently for me to manually focus and allowed about 15 photos.

While my actual project involved photographing the Mid Century Modern motels along US1, I couldn't help but take some shots of this classy joint.

When editing this I noticed it was photo bombed (or bugged). I should add - the shutter speed was 1/950.
