    Yo / Masto, what should I do with this overgrown aloe I inherited?

    It seems happy. A piece broke off and now that's happily rooted in another pot. Do I just leave it? Do I gotta split it or it'll die? Do succulents get root bound like other plants?

    I don't really want another aloe plant, I'd like for this to just. You know. Not take over, heh. Do I just trim it back maybe? Break bits off? It seems very prone to having bits break off, guess that's how succulents do?

    adding minigames to your game is a good way to

    1. get a little vacation from your game while still working on it

    2. get that nice dopamine hit of finishing a game without waiting years to actually finish the proper game

    Can't relate to people who say bluesky is so much better than mastodon. Bluesky feels dead to me. Also one of the arguments I saw was that they had search and algorithms instead of hashtags, and this individual didn't wanna use hashtags

    The thing about hashtags is that it makes discoverability opt-in. You decide if you want random word searching bastards to find your posts, which is important since 95% this is done by people looking to harass others

    Anyway I wanna wish people luck on bluesky. They're not even out of private beta yet and the people in charge are already talking to press about their plans to add "monetizable value add"

    I'm gonna stay here where I can control when I want everyone to be able to find what I say, and where a corporation won't try and carve chunks of functionality out to sell them back to me, a process that inevitably culminates in what happened to twitter and reddit when they can't squeeze enough blood from the stone anymore

    Youtuber NeverKnowsBest had his 2nd channel removed and appeal denied, and then had his 6 hour long video "The Entire History of Games" which he worked on for many months demonitized for supposed profanity in the video's title. Even though we can all plainly see there is none, his appeal on this was also denied https://youtu.be/FPTXRV1GU4E

    Apparently there is just nobody left at the wheel on , because this is just patently ridiculous. What good is an appeal if the same dumb as bricks AI scans the content again and comes up again with the same false positives? Why isn't there a human who can spend literally 2 seconds verifying there's nothing to this claim?
