Powerful. Personal. Private. It’s a web browser. But fun. It comes with a bunch of clever features built in. It’s super flexible and does not track you. Get the Vivaldi browser for desktop, mobile, and your car!

Here are the survey result for which email client people are using. There were 511 participants.

  • Vivaldi : 11%
  • Thunderbird : 41%
  • Other : 24%
  • Webmail only : 24%

Good to see so many having switched to @Vivaldi. It is still early days. Also great to see that so many see the importance of using a mail client instead of Webmail only.

I installed newest Vivaldi Browser 6.6 in my laptop and phone yesterday. I used Vivaldi's first versions few years ago. In that time I had some compatiblity issues and "missing functions" issues with it.
For a while I have not used it, but yesterday I decided to test it again after reading some news about Vivaldi development and new functions.
Now I have to say that Vivaldi might be my new favorite browser.

Leap Day this year came with a new and shiny release, including the ability to have extensions work in panels! I'm still waiting for @Vivaldi to give me the pretty version of RSS feeds in a panel, but I'm willing to wait.

@talktech It's my go-to for pretty much everything. The list of things "I wish it did" has been worn down to almost nothing. It seems like every time I think to myself, "Wouldn't it be cool if.." that's in the next release. It can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. My UI is pretty basic, but that's misleading. I've got custom buttons with Command Chains that do a variety of virtually automated tasks for me. In my opinion, it's the best browser available right now.

I saw a comment on a recent ArsTechnica article on killing s in the EU that stated "nobody uses PWAs". (Protip: never, ever, read the comments 🙄). Not including @phanpy , I have an entire folder of PWAs on my homescreen.

Additionally, these run in the browser of my choice @Vivaldi so they include ad and tracker blocking. I get UberEATS without having to install the Uber app. It's brilliant and extremely sad so many have been deceived about these.

The chances of you and your colleague using a browser the same way are slim.

🎨 If you're in the Creative department, you spend time looking for inspiration across different design websites, use a note-taking tool to save snippets of information for your next written piece, or regularly access file-sharing platforms to share your designs.

📧 If you're a Manager, you spend a large part of your day dealing with emails, manage your team on different internal or external communication platforms, and navigate between different project management tools and dashboards to stay on top of projects.

But in whichever way you use your browser, almost everything about the Vivaldi browser can be customized and tailored to your needs.

Here are some ways you can customize our browser to make it work and feel like your personal workstation.👇🏻

aral,
@aral@mastodon.ar.al avatar

@Vivaldi The fact that I could remove almost everything in the interface means that I’ve switched to using Vivaldi as my default browser. I mean, I’m terrible for your bottom line but I appreciate the extreme customisability.

(This is especially going to come in handy as I start to record new videos for the Small Web. On a 1920 × 1080 video, every piece of additional chrome becomes noise.)*

  • I know I can hide the address bar too but I felt that was one step too far. Did try it though :)
