A very valuable lesson as a #DM is the party will attempt to adopt random animals, monsters, and NPCs any chance they get. One party I DMed for ending up with four ducklings, a demonic reindeer, a pseudodragon and were trying to adopt some baby alligators but I was like "No, this is getting out of hand."

They also met a young copper dragon and I was like "He has a family, guys!"
