Another Palestinian journalist killed by Israeli attacks in Gaza

Palestinian journalist Rushdi Sarraj has been killed in an Israeli attack on his home in Gaza.
“My close friend, Rushdi Sarraj, was killed in Israeli bombardment on his home. He was a talented photojournalist and director creatively telling the stories of Gazans under war and siege. May you rest in peace,” international photojournalist Wissam Nassar said on Instagram.

Groupthink
A Study in Self-Delusion

Booker defines the three rules of groupthink: the adoption of a common view or belief not based on objective reality; the establishment of a consensus of right-minded people, an 'in group'; and the need to treat the views of anyone who questions the belief as wholly unacceptable He shows how various interest groups, journalists and even governments in the 21st century have subscribed to this way of thinking, with deeply disturbing results.

Great Catastrophe
The destruction of the Armenians of the Ottoman Empire in 1915-16 was the greatest atrocity of World War I. Around one million Armenians were killed, and the survivors were scattered across the world. Although it is now a century old, the issue of what most of the world calls the Armenian Genocide of 1915 is still a live and divisive issue that mobilizes Armenians across the world, shapes the identity and politics of modern Turkey.

Olive trees

Israeli settlers destroy 70 olive trees in West Bank village

Israeli settlers have cut down dozens of olive trees in the village of Yasouf in the central occupied West Bank.

The head of the Yasouf Village Council, Saleh Yassin, told the state-run Wafa news agency that dozens of settlers destroyed about 70 olive trees, aged between 50 to 70 years, and owned by some citizens in Yasouf.

@AlfredJH @palestine Like the article says, "The olive harvest constitutes a critical source of livelihood for thousands of Palestinian families. With more than 12 million olive trees planted across nearly half of the West Bank’s agricultural land, olive oil is not only central to Palestinian food security but is also a large part of their export economy.

Moreover, olive trees are symbolic of the Palestinian attachment to their land."
