"is that man holding a fish always going to be there?"

"nope thats just a plaiceholder"

b3cft,

@SecureOwl
I actually groaned.

Anyone got a contact in Cloudflare, ideally the abuse or Ops team?

Someone has pointed a Cloudflare-Traffic-Manager at one of our IPs.

But their abuse form won't allow you to mention Cloudflare or just traffic going to an IP (there is not Host name in the requests, just the IP).

The traffic is blocked, but just Fscking annoying and it paged me and woke me up, and now I'm grumpy.

I've open sourced about 80% of a #serverless solution for managing DMARC reports across multiple domains.

https://codeberg.org/falken/dmarc-report

Just need to pick a cheap persistent store. Wondering if just #s3 with #athena is good enough...

#email #geek #aws #lambda #nodejs

b3cft,

@falken

I actually do it the other way around.

I have ses receive mail and put it directly into an s3 bucket.

Bucket has a notification to topics for creates into the report and forensic subfolders to a sns/sqs that feeds the lambda to process them. Then I can batch them.

Then lifecycle policy on bucket to clean up reports.

noticed that my neighbors changed the light bulbs in their lanterns outside to be red and green over the holidays but they didn’t follow the correct international aviation and maritime standard for port and starboard, if you can believe it.

b3cft,

@SecureOwl
Maybe they're travelling in the opposite direction

b3cft,

@SecureOwl
It's obviously the correct thing to do.
I'm sure the HOA has nothing better to occupy their time with.

I love the idea (OK not really, it is cruel) that people that do not have an internal monologue are in fact NPCs... 🙂

I have an internal monologue, but also have other mental processes - seeing (computer) code in my head in, sort of, multiple layers, and debugging code in my sleep. My monologue comes in writing and reading, and planning what I will say/type, but I also am able to come up with ideas out of thin air without "wording" them through in my head.

You? (ya, why not boost, etc)

b3cft,

@revk
No internal monologue also aphantastic (no mental imagery).

Do dream in code and have some imagery dreaming (I think, I rarely remember dreaming)

I wonder how you normies concentrate with all that going on in there.

I may be an NPC, how do I test that?

b3cft,

@mike @revk
Hmm. Interesting, I'm the same.
I never "hear" what I'm reading or writing.
It's that same as my aphantastia, I have no internal image of my wife, I couldn't describe her to someone, but I know instantly when I see her that is her.
This could go on and on with mental internals, and I guess this is the whole spectrum of neurodivergancy.

PSA: if you are in the UK and about to register an aircraft for some reason, the registration G-TLDR is still available and would likely fill any of your passengers with confidence regarding your adherence to checklists and other documentation.

b3cft,

@SecureOwl I'm still surprised that it lists the name and address of the owners of aircraft, in this day of

Also one of the magazines I read, lists newly registered planes this month :mind_blown:

I know at our airfield there a few owners whose spouses are unaware that they own a aircraft 😂

“Hey, what the hell are you doing?”

“Oh erm, it’s not what it looks like…”

“Oh it’s exactly what it looks like - after all we’ve taught you - after everything, we catch you doing this?”

“I just thought it would help me..”

“Oh yeah it helps. Temporarily. But once it wears off - guess what. You’re back to square one, and actually, everything is worse.”

“All my friends use it…”

“Oh jeez, seriously - that line? I don’t care about your friends, most of them probably say they use it but don’t anyway.”

“Are you going to tell mom?”

“Yes - of course, I’ll have to tell your mom. And she’s going to be so disappointed to know that we’ve raised a kid that uses WD-40 in the house when an actual lubricant is what they need.”

b3cft,

@SecureOwl
Ran a this afternoon.
Fixed 4 bikes, and was saying pretty much this to a lady whose bike I got working again.

WD = Water Displacement

Use it to clean/degrease/de-muck but you need to use a real lubricant afterwards.

    Oh neat. Didn't know about new regulations. Have preemptively installed about 4 apps just in case.
    But it seems every fast charger I see is owned/operated by a different organisation.

    Just got our full EV, but so far only charged at home, mainly off solar, but also have Octopus Intelligent. And generally low mileage, otherwise use the PHEV.
    Will wait to see how we go over winter.

    b3cft,

    @CrackedWindscreen @kentindell @serichards
    Have a Cupra Born 58kw eBoost for EV

    Cupra Formentor V2 PHEV

    Mrs loves the Born, it is extremely nippy. I prefer the Formentor.
    The PHEV will do 30+ miles pure electric, most our weekly driving, I think normally only use hybrid mode for 1 journey a week, or weekend visiting parents who are all 200ish miles round trip.

    We've done just short of 4k in the PHEV and only filled it up 4 times. Largest fill up was 30L!

    Our choice was a bit limited as we really didn't want a crossover or SUV for PHEV.

    Waiting times... Well they're here now.

    "If you’ve ever owned a domain name, the chances are good that at some point you’ve received a snail mail letter which appears to be a bill for a domain or website-related services. In reality, these misleading missives try to trick people into paying for useless services they never ordered, don’t need, and probably will never receive. Here’s a look at the most recent incarnation of this scam — — and some clues about who may be behind it."

    This was more fun than I thought I'd have reporting it out.

    I've not had one of these in a very long time. Surprised it's not the same gang that used to run "Domain Registry Of America" back in the 90s/00s.

    They used to send prepaid air mail return envelopes, used to fill them up with the contents of all the junk mail out of the bin and send them back. :blobjoy:

    Yay! Successfully reversed engineered the websocket api for and have a driver working to control it in real-time for .

    It has to be written in for , which I don't really know, so quite a learning curve.

    I can now fine tune based on and statii, and lock/unlock etc.

    Little bit more testing and error handling then will release as a community driver.

    We've reached the point in the year where our @solar panels are earning more than we are paying for electricity.

    In the last month we bought 183kWh for £46.
    We sold 523kWh for £56.

    And, of course, we didn't pay for electricity when the sun was shining.

    Never let anyone tell you the UK has the wrong weather for !

    b3cft,

    @CatherineFlick @Edent @solar
    Yeah. We managed to get 4p/kWh but have invested in batteries and now an EV, so we can last overnight on the day's generation plus excess tops up the car.
    The last 800miles were powered by sunlight.

    I normally stick with the web interface for mastodon, but elk is really growing on me. If it had admin capabilities, I may move it it permanently. (PS: it’s available here: https://elk.infosec.exchange)

    b3cft,

    @jerry I also really like it.
    I think on mobile when it's pinned to the home screen (android Firefox) it opens a new tab each time I load it.

    There are a couple of things I end up going back to the app, but for just a quick catch up and browse, love it!

    Thanks for hosting yet another thing!
