I've been seeing discussions lately around the YouTube fascism algorithm [not directed at me] implying that if you get those suggestions it's because that's material you have sought out.
Not true.

It's been studied and repeatedly shown--like a vehicle w/poor alignment--suggestions will drift to the right pretty quickly.
To "never" get them, you must
a) be outside targeted demographics AND
b) not look at DIY, repair, survivalism, building, cooking, sewing, politics, animal husbandry, automotive

@m4nuel to get a summer photo of the sunrise behind the lighthouse, you'd either need to be able to stand on water or have a boat. It's much easier to get the sun in there top by taking steps to the left during this time of year.

@m4nuel the sun moves to the right, so you have to move to the left to keep it aligned. As it gets higher in the sky, it also moves right. Once it is at the level of the light, you just walk to the left until the sun lines up with it.

Here, sunrise in the summer is in the northeast. The attached shows sunrise on June 20th.

If you're a biker and looking for a helmet, watch this video first. Also, buy from a legit bike shop or sporting goods store and not an online store. Seeing what happens to a high-end counterfeit helmet in this video is scary.

@MattPT it never bothered me to sleep in a bivy or it has been so long that I don't remember it bothering me. It's been about 25 years since I first started using them. I was hoping this one would be lighter and more breathable than a Gore-Tex bivy and work better under a tarp.

@TimKStanton with this tarp setup there was plenty of protection. Even with a flat 8x10, there's more than enough rain protection that a bug bivy would be fine just for bugs.

@GottaLaff when I lived there I did, but that's ~20 years ago. For the Democrats there, they are a good way to organize people and get volunteers. I don't know when the Democratic caucus is happening there this year.

@GottaLaff the only thing that I'm interested in is seeing how much vote Haley gets. I saw a poll that said only ~50% of her supporters would vote Trump in the general.
