Ein Ameisenlรถwe /Bellied Antlion (Brachynemurus abdominalis) zum
. Mein erster und einziger Fund bisher. Das kleine Raubtier, das im Sandtrichter auf Ameisen lauert, ist seine Larve.

So viele Mohnblumen in meiner timeline ๐Ÿ˜ .
Aus dem Archiv, denn der Mohn blueht hier noch lange nicht.
Ausserdem erinnert es mich daran dass ich unbedingt mal wieder einen Mohnkuchen backen muss.

There's more to bees than honey. A Leafcutter Bee and the leaves she cut to line her nest with the round pieces.

Maple leaves that have rounded holes around the edges, chewed by the bees.

A fallen tree, I guess a Hemlock.
Home to mosses, lichens, and fungi, and all the tiny critters who live there.

I rarely dare to photograph the sun directly but today I did at 7pm. I underexposed by 2/3 - so it looks a bit darker than it is.
The sky is filled with smoke, high up (I can't smell it), and the sun is orange with the haze. The fires in Alberta are about 2,800 km away.
I feel for the people who have to flee from it.

A typical Ruby-crowned Kinglet: hardly ever showing the ruby crown (it's hidden under green feathers), hardly ever posing for even a second, hardly ever seen, but I can hear them everywhere.
Note the fancy orange feet!

In case you haven't seen any crowns today: here's a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
Can't beat that ๐Ÿ™‚ .

It's raining cats and dogs.
A pair of Crows have befriended us. They show up to ask for a peanut in exchange for a photo.
Works well for both sides ๐Ÿ™‚ .

@NatureMC
They are very smart and cautious. It took a long time for them to not fly away and watch from a distance first, or not to have the other watch over the situation. Started last summer, and now that they returned they picked right up where they left in the fall.

When you have only the 12mm lens with you and find lichens colouring an old Pine tree.

Traubenhyazinthe mit winziger Spinne.

It will be end of May before I get to see this again: Grape hyacinth with a tiny spider baby.
Vertical photo.

Lichens, fungi, and moss in a rainbow of colours on a small fir branch, maybe a cm across.
