Something wrong with Mastodon or my laptop, or some recent updates? Lots of error messages, can't upload a photo, took forever to load my timeline, not even showing photos. Has been a problem already for a few days.

My internet connection is fading in and out. There seems to be a problem, but only on this laptop, only in the mornings, ... mysterious. Glad it's not Mastodon.
A bit of a strange day for me, carpentry wise. I finished framing the floor for the addition and hit pause. I went in to see what I’d take on and was suddenly overwhelmed by it all. Realizing there’s still so much to do, and realizing it’ll be worse come sealift when so much arrives and I’ll be racing winter. And overcome with the feeling I’m just not good enough.
I am, and this will pass. But two days in and I just gave up on the day.
#Tomatoes into the ground, though we could still add to the second row. Will acquire more this week maybe.
Also K replaced the #thyme that didn't make it through the winter, and the #rosemary that didn't survive in an indoor pot past December. Those dark days are tough for it, but we use it very heavily anticipating it won't last.
I think I've only twice managed to get rosemary to last to be replanted in spring.
@ottaross The last few years I managed to keep rosemary alive in the house during the winter, harvesting small amounts every now and then. Mine just needed way more water than I gave them previously when they didn't survive. Had it in a north-facing window.
So, this was released today. My third stamp with Canada Post. Qarlinngua (The pants). And technically my second stamp with a family member in it, as the tiny figure in it is my son Travis. Now for one with Hilary in it.

I once rescued a mouse from an outhouse with the help of a stick. Gave that poor thing a good rinsing and watched over it for an hour until it had recovered, poor little thing.
I'm haunted by a big jar of imported Bulgarian peaches I saw at the grocery store today.
1.7 litres of peeled halved peaches, for just under six bucks, that clearly, desperately want to be pie, and I abandoned them. What kind of monster am I?

I saw those jars here too, there were just 2 left. I question my sanity 🤦 because I didn't buy at least one. The sheer weight of them put me off.

Has anyone ever investigated how cats choose such gift places and where this comes from? (Sharing the prey?) I would like to learn to understand cats in their behaviour. Do I have to give a mouse back? 😸

Years ago I had a cat who often brought live mice into the house/bedroom in the middle of the night, only to sit down, wash her face, and watch me catching the mouse and bringing it outside. I got very good at catching mice. Always thought that was the intention of the cat 😂 .

Meine Muttersprache ist Deutsch, den Dialekt meiner Mutter kann ich bis heute nur unter Ohrenschmerzen anhören (ich sag nicht welcher, will niemanden beleidigen). Den Dialekt meines Geburtsortes durfte ich als Kind nicht sprechen, ich wurde auf "perfekt Deutsch" gedrillt. Die Muttersprachen meiner Mutter sprach nicht mal meine Mutter und die Vatersprachen waren spannend.
