🤔Nothing confirms the statistic that most white Americans have zero Black friends more than seeing whole newspaper articles call a "fade," by far the most common, most generic, simplest haircut that's worn by most Black US citizens, a "Travis Kelce."🤦🏿‍♂️

Even with fancier Black men's haircuts, most start with a basic fade, and get more complicated from there.

The fade is so common and so foundational that it's how Black barbers are judged. It's like asking an artist to draw a perfect circle.

@paul_ipv6 @mekkaokereke And the "new" strategy for television shows where they release just one episode a week for multiple weeks, rather than just dropping the whole series at once. Genius move to build up excitement and anticipation and to get people to make it a point of watching on a particular night!

This is a point I had considered in seeing . It's always problematic for films like this. No one speaks for an entire group of people, but listening to more voices is good.

Godzilla Minus One was great! Recommend.

I can't really describe it. It was simultaneously like an old Godzilla movie, a contemporary one, and something very new, all at the same time. I'm still processing.

Toho added just enough Kaiju to give the moments weight, but not so many that the movie felt like a VFX demo reel. And their take on atomic breath had so much weight.

It's now my favorite Godzilla movie ever. Sorry Mothra! I think people that don't like Godzilla movies would still like it.

@marcprecipice @mekkaokereke I saw the regular version two or three times and then saw the black and white version, which was absolutely stunning, especially after having seen the regular version. Every time I saw it, I got more out of the story. Brilliant movie. And an Oscar winning one too!

Jessica Pettway didn't just die of cervical cancer. She died because her symptoms were repeatedly ignored and dismissed. By the time someone took her seriously, it was months later and too late to save her life. How are none of the doctors who ignored her not being investigated for malpractice?

He's not someone who's ever been on my radar so I don't care that much other than to know to add him on the list. But the list is getting so long now that it's hard to remember everyone who's on it. I feel like I've previously read something about him that already pointed out his sketchiness, but I can't remember.

I hadn't really been interested in seeing #BarbieMovie, but then I heard various things about it, enough to convince me to go, so I went with friends last night.

Overall, I liked the movie, though I thought the pacing was off in parts. #MargotRobbie was terrific, and I enjoyed others in the film as well. /1

The movie had me at the first sequence, because really, how can I not like a movie that starts like that?

Presuming the strikes will be over by then, I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing Ryan Gosling perform at the next year surrounded by Kens. /3

Dinner yesterday was at #DockingBay7 , and we tried the BBQ pork shanks with leek and brussel sprouts salad, and blueberry corn muffin, which was a limited-availability item this past Friday through Sunday for the 5th anniversary of #GalaxysEdge #StarWarsGalaxysEdge .

I liked the dish ok, but the pork was a little dry. The salad was really good. #BlackSpireOutpost #Batuu #Disneyland 1/2

I'm guessing it was an approximation of the ribs that were on the menu when they first opened, which included a cabbage slaw and the blueberry corn muffin. But that dish was so much better.
