I will die on this hill:
We will not fix our democracy until we start doing criminal prosecutions of the wealthy again. Not just weakly using DPAs and fines
and prosecutions of corporations.

Musk and the hospital execs in the news today must face threats of jail.

No fine will ever break a billionaire— they just pay out some funds and move on. But criminal charges can take down their lifestyle and hold them truly accountable.

July was the hottest month on record. So here's some tips on how to stay safe in the heat:

-Do not look directly at the sun. The sun interprets this as a challenge, and will become hotter to assert dominance.

-Cover your body in slugs. Each slug will lower your body temperature by a third of a degree.

-Crawl around on all fours instead of walking. Heat rises, so you want to stay as low as possible.

-Remove the various tubs of ice cream from your freezer to make room for yourself.

I've been trying to find the right way to articulate this-- but the folks on the right have it backwards about who is driven by "white guilt" --

This impulse to cover up and distort the history of slavery reeks of shame. It's, frankly, weird. Nobody has perfect ancestors, what sort of crisis of identity leads one to lie about the past.

It's just the things that happened. You learn about them you learn from them. You do better. Don't make it so emotional and personal.

    -want to let them speed up playback speed
    -provide the option of reading a transcript and answering questions instead of watching videos
