I just published a very basic introduction to using Boston's #Bluebikes bikeshare system data in #RStats. IMHO this is a great, underutilized dataset and is especially well-suited for student projects!

@streetsblogmass Not that I have time for this kind of stuff, but does the data link start and endpoints, to see where people are going? Or just volume at each station? (The transit nerd in me hopes the former; the privacy advocate hopes the latter)

It still tickles me that the TERFS and Transphobes tried to claim Terry Pratchett as their own, and everyone who actually knew him, including his daughter, and co-author Neil Gaiman, was like WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, you couldn't be further from the truth.

For the past 6 months or so I’ve been intentionally growing out my natural gray hair. It’s mostly “salt and pepper” but I have two perfectly white streaks—I’m learning to love them! I’m growing it out gracefully (as much as possible) by blending it with purple and blue ombré. I found out this technique has a name… “grombré.” I love it so much.

As part of an air-rights project over the Mass. Pike in Back Bay, developers are building a new plaza that will include a new entry to the Hynes Green Line subway station, protected bike lanes, and an improved bus shelter for the 1 bus.

I had a fun idea for a Minecraft project that required me to freeform-draw a sign with a white background.

As far as I know, the only way to do this is to frame a map of an area that looks like your intended "drawing" from above.

This is how far I've gotten so far with the white background. By the way, I'll need two of these side-by-side, since the design is rectangular…

I've only known I was gay for a few years, but I really appreciate how all the friends I've spoken to about it have either been very supportive or haven't even cared at all.

However, comments like this from a YouTube rando deserve an unequivocal response:

  • Yes, I support pride.
  • Yes, I consider myself woke.
  • Pride includes everyone; there's no LGB without the T.

I've never sworn on Twitter in the 14 years I've been there, but as this is Mastodon: this person can fuck right off.
