Well this experiment has not gone well. I tried to move my account to @doctormo and it appears I can't make an alias to a @firefish account, so all my accounts are stuck here.

I knot it's not much yet, but I'm quite excited about this Color Managed redesign. It's all functional and a bunch of assumptions are all made sane so you can actually use Inkscape to Color Proof your document in a DeviceCMYK profile before exporting to PDF, TIFF or JPEG in an actual CMYK profile.

I'll talk more about this in this weeks update video. But perhaps this will wet your anticipation. 😆

I wonder if it's not the difficulty or features that keep some people from joining the , I wonder if most people are shy about making overt political commitments.

Because to be sure, using or is a defiant and overt political act. It says a lot about what a person thinks is important, and what they are willing to be inconvenienced by in order for us all to achieve something as a society.

Speculation: Once a political statement has been made though, it's probably more damaging socially or psychologically to abandon it. Leading people to be shy of politically progressive acts that might fail to get to critical mass.

We ran out of free minutes this month and I've just had to fix a linking error in main caused by not having code compiled before being merged.

This is a good and bad sign. We're hitting the limits of the resources the project has at it's disposal because our activity this month has been very high with the paid migration work.

Some of the new code from our contract workers is looking really good by the way. Lots of valuable cleanup along with fixing the core issues with the upgrade.

Hmm, specifically emailing me about "changes to terms of service" makes me nervous. I'm not a lawyer, but MIcrosoft saying "you grant to Microsoft a worldwide and royalty-free intellectual property license to use Your Content" makes me wonder exactly which Microsoft tool I'm using that lets them use all my stuff. 🤔

The extra cruelty that SF shows to homeless people is why NYC people are kinder. "NYC people are mean!" is a lie.

NYC has a higher homeless rate than SF. But because Wall Street finance bros are less cruel than SF tech bros, fewer than 5% of NYC's homeless are unsheltered. SF is over 50%. 🤦🏿‍♂️

The update on the gtk4 port of AbiWord is that it is “impossible”. The removal of GtkMenuItem is part of the problem.

The biggest help has been being able to budget a serious amount of money to hire Tav and dboyles to do the work and not be worried that we're pressuring volunteers to do it.

    OK, so the red line crawled between Andrew and Fields Corner, but the car got stuck in the tunnel because of police action. I arrived 6 minutes and 34 seconds before the car arrived.
