I remember what a big deal it was when The Next Generation premiered. I was still in high school but went to college soon after where I found out I was not the only Trek fan on the planet.

We take Star Trek for granted today big time, back then it was a miracle we were getting new adventures with a new crew and new ship every week. The series had ups and downs but overall I adored it and it set the tone for the modern franchise we love. 🖖

@gedeonm My dad plopped me onto the couch when I was a toddler and said "you're gonna love this." It was the premiere of Encounter at Farpoint. He was right. Also I am downright angry that he never got to experience Lower Decks.

A friend is awaiting a double lung transplant. Two operations canceled at last minute because the donor lungs were not in good enough shape. Now she's going in at 5 p.m. today. I hate that it means someone has passed, but am hoping so badly the third time is a charm for her and she comes through it okay.

@IdahoLark My dad didn't qualify for large organ donations, but his corneas went to Ireland and they were able to use his bones and some tendons and other soft tissue for grafting. So even if you don't think you're a candidate, you may be able to do some good!
