When the aliens arrive
But they are all cats?

Those milk bags (actual bags of milk) never really took off in the UK. Sainsburys persisted with them for a while. Still a thing in Canada. Still plastic though.
Probably better we all have our own reusable containers that we fill up in the supermarket via a huge multi-teeted depiction of an udder. Yeah that would work.

Elvis Presley lived long enough that he might have heard Kraftwerk

Wow. Mid Beds goes Labour. That's how far from the left Labour now are. Incredible.
Used to be that you could've selected a paper bag as prospective Tory candidate for mid Beds and it'd win the seat comfortably.

Still under the thumb of the old at the mo. Doing lots of "nerve flossing" exercises and spine decompression. Bloody bodies. If we'd paid for these bodies we'd want our money back (or we'd be paying an expensive contract to keep upgrading to new models).

The public have long not been able to purchase fireworks in Australia. I have no idea why we think we have an unalienable right to blast these things with impunity. One at 5am this morning. I'm not a killjoy (honest guv) but it is time to ban the sale of fireworks to the public (can you tell I got out of bed the wrong side?... which I admit would be difficult)

In humdrum consumption news I still haven't been to the only Wilko here. In even more exciting but narcoleptic news I might well travel to our nearest "The Range" store.
Don't tell the younger me.

Got to love how The Telegraph, a paper that had called again and again for the decisions and the government's we've endured to now advise anyone under 50 to get the hell out.

Used to watch Tomorrow's World when young (was it before or after Top of the Pops?). Inventions seemed to be presented as potentially for the benefit of all. Or that's my memory of it anyway.
If it was still on it'd probably just be a schill for tech product press releases and news of the latest ego extension project of various man-baby oligarchs.

All "specialty coffees" are unavailable at the train buffet due to a fault with the coffee machine. Kind of an analogy for in there somewhere.

Going to keep off the politics as much as possible in future. Didn't move here to fall down that hole. Shouting at the world does very little. I do my bit. Write to MPs and MSPs and protest where I can. The pile on culture of other social media sites is not one I want to recreate here.

Have often thought an NHS for pets would be sensible. I know there's PDSA for low income and people will say you shouldn't own pets if you can't afford them but that would make pet ownership a preserve of the top 10%.

I hate DIY and have only the most basic skills for it but many years have passed since my last attempts and I will meditate extensively before attempting my absolute worst once again.
On the itinerary is...

  1. Replacing the toilet seat (easy)
  2. Putting up curtain poles (bodgeable) and hanging curtains on said poles (fall off steps-able)
  3. Installing replacement interlinked fire alarms (with luck just stick-up-able) and testing them (tinnitus-inducing)
