I'm giving @Flipboard a try out in the hope that this will eventually become a feed on the fediverse. For now it's a magazine on Flipboard about cassette culture, the history, the aesthetics and highlighting artists who are offering their music on this resurgung analogue physical format.

Been trying out following podcast feeds on here via https://podcastap.com
Seems to work. You really don't have to sign in with your fediverse account to try. Just use search and find the ActivityPub feed address to input into your client search area.

Bird feeder currently overrun by starlings with babies (always said in a Brummie accent in my mind) screeching their heads off. The jackdaw pops in now and then.

The good bit about having a manual push mower is that you can cut the grass in the evening without disturbing the neighbours (are you listening garden power tools man?). Going to need to cut the ample hedging soon. This will also be by hand. Snip snip. Bit by bit as and when I have the time (this is when I meet new people who speak to me whilst i'm queitly...er...trimming my hedge. Stop that).

The sun is shining today, and Apple Music has just shuffled up this absolute beaut from Royksopp.

It’s whisked me right back to lounging by a pool in Ibiza in September 2003, where I drank an ungodly amount of San Miguel while listening to this on my MiniDisc player.

Wonderful.

@DJDarren I lost touch with Royksopp after Happy up here, I think but that album is a classic.

Just going to dump my mock Aussie outbursts here to save annoying my Aussie other half when I still say all the sayings no Aussie actually says:
"Bonza, rippeeeeeer, beaut mate."

I will however end with a legacy outcry from before I was even a thing from Auntie Jack, a tv character butch male who dressed in women's clothes and yelled in top strine:
"I'll rip yer bloody arms off"

Australia. It's a funny place.

@Bez_Lightyear rack off I hear. Flaming Galah I only even heard Alf Roberts from Home & away say. My fave one that stopped me in my tracks was "stop carrying like a pork chop".

Idea for the BBC: Take all those antique, auction type TV programmes clogging up BBC 1 and 2 and stick them entirely on a specific channel called BBC Boomer. Go on. I dare you.

Here (south of the USA) people won't stop talking and freaking out about the .

The noise is unusual and sounds for a lot of people like an alarm that has been forgotten. It is very loud.

It appears to be a treat for the chickens.

@compost luckily we don't have them here in the UK but they were common when I lived in Australia. Good description of the sound they make. Used to drive me to distraction.

Ooh no. There's a reason this was going cheap and what the hell is the bunny holding?
Truly awful chocolate. Described as "compound chocolate". I couldn't eat it.

Close up of bunny holding a worrying deformed panda type creature with green eye sockets, arms and legs.

Lots of -chuntering in the -sphere ahead of the announcements next week, and honestly, I think it’s Apple’s approach to the iPad that pisses me off the most.

It’s where it’s most obvious that they like money and don’t want to have to sacrifice any. So they charge £1250 for an iPad Pro that has the raw processing power to be an incredible computer, but they crippled it with iPadOS in order to incentivise people to also buy a Mac.

emsquared,
@emsquared@mastodon.social avatar

@DJDarren you'd think they'd hybridise MacOS now that both the desktop and mobile run on silicon. Maybe a thing like DEX that Samsung has on its mobile android, where it adapts to be a desktop OS too. But as you say, nope.

emsquared,
@emsquared@mastodon.social avatar

@DJDarren Please excuse my thoughtlessness. Forgot Apple only know how to sell these days rather than innovate.

Had a dream where we all lived in a world without flat screen TV's and thus no smartphones or tablets (just portable TV's with teletext. . CRT TV's the size of smart cars. You kind of drove them into gaps left in houses to fit such things. Good picture though. And still only 4 channels.

By the way, speaking of I thought I'd share my recent shadow box that I made of my favourite album. Admitedly hard to see the depth element in 2D. Planning an over ambitious 3 layer one of a Mr B video scene with internal lights too (way too ambitious?) .

To this day if I catch Gary Numan's Cars on the radio or even in-store somewhere I just stop entirely and immerse myself.
There's a poignancy to having been young when it was a hit as well as it still sounding amazing.
