Also, potentially odd side question: do you know if there are latex free alternatives for those with allergies?

I had a brief moment of horror at the words “latex bra”, and now I’m curious lol

Sometimes when people argue with you online, they are picking up on an older argument that wasn't even about you or with you. An old argument they lost with someone else. You have the vague shape of their old enemy. They want to pick up the fight again. They want you to play the role of their old foe, desperately.

This often 'works' because in treating you like another person they insult you. So maybe you get angry.

And then you talk past each other and nothing is learned.

Honestly I've been on both sides of that equation. Not so much wanting the other person to pick up the role, but me seeing them that way.

I find myself saying all the things I wanted to say but couldn't before. Not, generally speaking, insults. I try to avoid that.

But even without the insults, I'm still talking to a mirage. As a result they're talking to a wall.

Noticing when you're doing that is a skill, however, and one that can be learned, if one is willing.

@massivelyop This is pure speculation, as I don’t actually know pricing for stuff like this, but 15k seems awfully cheap given what they claim they have?

If that’s actually the case (that it’s a very low price) I wonder if the goal is to “sell” it to multiple overeager people who want to rush in and grab it, only to board up windows, so to speak, when the check clears.

If it’s not, I learned something new today: Masterminding a data breach won’t even pay off my college loans.

never fails, i finally convince myself the schizophrenic neighbour is safely in the hospital and he shows up, pounding on my door, peering in the window, demanding i get a joiner to let him in because he's lost his key. He hasn't, but that doesn't stop him from trying to break his door or window.
So instead of taking care of myself, because my own needs fall through the cracks in services, i'm waiting for Housing to ring back so i can tattle on him in hopes it gets him better support.

@emmaaum oof. I had a neighbor who was similarly not well, and also had fixed her attention on me and my fiancé.

It was not going well, and eventually we made the decision to move— which wasn’t easy. I also realize it isn’t always possible.

I hope he gets the treatment he needs, if for no other reason than your safety and well being.

Reading Heaven's Official Blessings and .... I mean, it is interesting, but I definitely do not understand the hype 😅 Perhaps cos BL is not new to me nor is it something I hunger for. Maybe cos it seems to be written for a younger audience...
But it is definitely because of the awkward translation with phrases like "unleashed to the max" etc. It takes me out completely 😂
I definitely find the Penguin translation for "Tales from the Chinese Studio" so much better.

@rivetgeek given what you’ve said, and also what people have told me about the show, Happiness might be something to check out.

I can’t definitively vouch for it, as I haven’t seen much more than clips yet, but they indicate both horror and emotional interpersonal character stuff. Which I’ve heard confirmed by those who have seen it.

Unfortunately, it’s not on Netflix. It’s on Viki though.

Some people get really weird when they find out a piece of media is from anywhere in Asia.

Like, they immediately make it a Thing™️ that I enjoy it. They get weirdly resistant to watching/listening to it. They suddenly become adamant that it needs to be in English for them to do so. They also indicate that it’s weird that I am not.

Even when it is in English, they’re still weirdly resistant.

But if I point out what this is starting to sound like, they get really defensive. :blobcatthink:

I was having an issue uploading PDFs to Roll20 and realized they were all about 2MB because I had used PDFXchange to export them. Re-exported with Affinity and they're 500-600KB each, and they uploaded fine. Not sure what PDFXchange is bloating the files with but Roll20 doesn't like it.

@massivelyop It’s been forever. I liked — it was frustrating that I couldn’t really get a group together to play it.

But it has some legitimately unique elements (at the very least at the time). While I never got to do ship content, standing on the edge of the world and looking out into the Astral never got old.

Plus, there was interesting commentary baked into it that gave it a very different feel than other anachronistic fantasy MMOS I’ve played.

Okay so, final thoughts about Thai horror drama Enigma?

It was great. I'm impressed with how much it managed to tell in the short amount of time the show had.

Visually stunning, as I said before.

The tension buildup, and overall pacing felt good.

And also, it's just a cool story and universe.

I look forward to returning to it for season 2.

I dropped so many Korean dramas this year I'm almost afraid to start another, but looks interesting and exciting. However, it continues the trend of "seasonal" and I'm not happy about that.
A part of me doesn't want to watch it for that reason lol.

@emmaaum Uh, a month later, but The Eclipse is one of those shows where I saw a lot of it, but not in order, or all at once.

I plan to go back and rewatch it properly. At the time I was skimming it, I was singing its praises in a discord server I was on.
