Why celebrate #IndependenceDay? I didn't choose to be born here, so it's kinda weird for me to be proud to be an American etc. And this country has done good and bad. But what I think is pretty awesome is that we've all participated in keeping it going and making it better, through the larger project of democratic self government. That was quite an experiment back then. To the degree we are trying to help with that, we should reflect on it and celebrate our collective progress.
