I finally have some good news. Today I got offered the job that I had been hoping for. When I finally get off of FMLA on Oct. 16th, I won't have to worry about returning to the job that I hate because of the manager I hate even more. The new job will be interesting and a 10K raise.

@nixCraft Good blog write-up. But I wouldn't really call Windows 10 and Windows 11 solid OSes. They both suffer from bugs in the printing subsystem that rear their ugly head in corporate environments.

I hate the feature that Windows wants to find the closest available printer for you. It barely works at all and when something inevitably goes wrong, it's a bitch to troubleshoot. At home I am Microsoft and Apple free.

Elon Musk's social network X (Twitter) has disabled the ability to complain about election disinformation.

Previously, this was a separate category in the complaints menu, but last week it was removed for all users except those in the EU.

The ability to complain about disinformation was also disabled less than three weeks before the Australian referendum on constitutional amendments and 14 months before the US presidential election.

@Free_Press Elon is just a younger, wealthier, perhaps smarter and definitely healthier version of Donald Trump. That's about all I can say for him. Hopefully Elon will get his comeuppance one day: those that misbehave generally do.

Why do I often feel depression free at night but when I wake up in the morning, I feel majorly depressed. There is something about the night that brings relief. I truly wish I knew what it was. I don't think about the impending day. I just lie in bed relaxed until i fall asleep.

When I fall asleep, it's often a crap shoot as to whether they will be vivid and crazy or PTSD ones that will wake me up in cold sweats. Last night was the former. I hope tonight will be the latter.

I keep hearing dream control is possible. I've yet to try it; might have to use google for suggestions. I cannot imagine that it is easy but I'd like to start somewhere.

@myeyesaredim @veirling @moffintosh I tend to agree. Fascism is usually left in the aftermath of a collapsed modern empire. In the pre-industrial and technological eras, it was more so violent anarchy and fiefdoms often ruled by religious concerns.
