18:10 Monday - Another large #wildfire between Prosser and Benton City, Washington. This one has jumped the Yakima River and Interstate 82. Many roads, including the interstate, are closed.
@ingalls 🤬 This is infuriating. On top of stressing out dogs, triggering PTSD in veterans, injuries, etc, fireworks aren't worth it. There are hundreds of better ways to celebrate "independence"
@ingalls Absolutely. If you really feel the need to participate in this, stick with a simple cake with hidden color inside. No need to one up each other by starting a forest fire or murdering grandma, or any of the other absurd endings that have happened.
My three year old daughter has a little wooden “weather station” where she turns dials to show what the #weather is outside and recently she has started calling it her work.
US government officials have relied too heavily on social media to pass along emergency alerts rather than improving what were once robust stand-alone systems.
These systems still exist and reach the vast majority of Americans (NOAA weather radio is the main one), but the technology is severely outdated because they’ve just twiddled their thumbs and were comfortable with social media because it was easy.
My kid ate it hard today during #KidlicalMassPDX but jumped right back up and kept going on her #bike. More astonishingly, she somehow has no scrapes or bruises. Gosh dang I wish I had the durability of a three year old.
