Eric Jackson of #Eugene recently passed away after spending the last five years of his life advocating for the homeless there. He lived with them in the tents, racked up $12,000 in fines, and was a constant gadfly at city council meetings demanding better treatment of the homeless there. Rest in power, Eric. It's funny to me that our airport's slogan is "fly local, fly eugene." Fly local? I've never flown from there because there's no mass transit option. I'd rather take the train to Portland and then light rail to the front door of the airport, same price, plus a train ride!

Folks of #Eugene and @eugene: Our only hospital on this side of the river is closing. The ER's last day is set to be Dec. 1. The Oregon Nurses Association has started this letter writing campaign to hopefully draw the attention of the OHA and Governor.
I'm not sure about running the bus through the park so we can keep the six lanes of car traffic #stroads, but it's cool that we have a grassy busway in #Eugene, OR (and part of it is shared two-way, time-separated where they ran out of space because eight lanes for cars 😂).
