I don't post on here nearly as often or regularly as I want/should. But I do lurk like crazy, and it makes me so happy. My feed is this creative, diverse, respectful collection of artists, nerds, creators, makers, and scholars, many of whom are neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+. And the discussions that happen here are FASCINATING. I just love to hang back and listen in here and there, and bask in this beautiful community. This is my happy place :-D

It's been a whirlwind of a past few days, but it's been pretty good! Just had my 3rd and final interview with the company that I interviewed with last week, and I feel like it went really well!

There's a possibility that, by this time next week, I could be gainfully employed again!!!!!

While it may look cute and fluffy, a wombat's bum is their biggest weapon. They're made up of four fused plates surrounded by cartilage, fat, skin and fur. They can use their bum to block or even potentially to crush the skulls of predators against the entrance of their burrow. 😮

My new med is causing near constant . :( I cannot take Zofran (interacts with another med) or Pepto to help… and peppermint makes it worse.

@britt Ginger root capsules tend to work well for nausea. This is the brand I use, and I find if I take 2 of them (or 3, if it's really bad), it makes a difference.

Perhaps that's cheating, but that's how excited I am. And the company is one that I'm genuinely interested in and excited by. This is fantastic, and I just had to share!!!

    Had my annual physical today. Lab work is looking good so far! Also, my doctor was pleasantly surprised by my weight loss and told me to "keep doing what you're doing".

    What I've been doing is smoking lots of pot and staying up too late. So I'll have no trouble following that advice 😂

    I've been up all night, submitting job applications. In the last 2 weeks alone, I've applied for something on the order of 50 jobs, and I've only received 5 response emails - literally all of them scams:

    • Addressed to "Dear Applicant" - Telling me to download Signal to schedule an interview
    • Their HR person's name always consists of two first names
    • Their email is coming from a completely different domain than the company I applied to.

    This is soul-crushing.

    It looks like a lot of places are hiring, or at least they're claiming to. Although they could just be collecting applications. Who knows. 🤷‍♀️

    I just found out that didn't shut down until December of 2020. They were up all that time!!! I wish I'd known - I would've looked for a way to connect.

    People like to joke that AOL wasn't the "real" internet, and maybe it wasn't, but it really was ahead of its time as far as features. I'd love another service like that today!

    After an unintentional hiatus involving a wedding, the holidays, and a dose of the sads, I’ve started finding solace in watching classic movies, developing an appreciation for the unique styles of old cinema. I’ve been on a Frankenstein kick, watching the films from the 1930’s, and then the Abbott and Costello take from the 40’s. I’ve also now developed a crush on Lou Costello.
