This is one of the most-requested features we've had from our subscribers, but was quite difficult to figure out logistically. Ghost's native RSS feeds cannot see behind any of its own walls, and there are no existing integrations that solve the problem we had.

@ryansingel and a company called FeedPress helped us solve this, and now will offer the same functionality to other Ghost sites

Facebook's algorithm is recommending the bizarre, AI-generated images (like "Shrimp Jesus") that are repeatedly going viral. Pages doing this are linking out to AI-generated and otherwise low-effort spam pages that are stacked with ads:

These images have gone viral off platform in a "wtf is happening on FB" kind of way, and I know mostly old people and the worst people you know are still there but journalistically it's the most interesting platform rn because it's just fully abandoned mall, no rules, total chaos vibes.

Twitter is a mess for different horrifying reasons but Facebook is a mess in a like "carnival horrorshow" way that I am completely obsessed with

@aetataureate there's some of that, but a lot of it is real too. I have spent many hours clicking thru to look at the profiles of people interacting with this stuff and some seems like account takeovers but the vast majority are accounts clearly still being operated by humans. I hope to do a follow-up on this at some point but it's very hard to come to any overall thesis here really
