@aronow I work for a municipality. They advertise some remote/hybrid roles, but policy requires all employees live in the municipality.

Hmm.. I kinda super dislike the fact I'm paying for a TV subscription but I am only able to use their "official" receiver or watch via their site

I understand that they can't simply share the URL/file and key but arrggh..

The only way to watch TV via my own media service is illegally, it's almost as if they try to force me :blobpirate:

@stux you can always enter cablecard hell where what you can actually decode is left to the whim of some random engineer. In theory Verizon and Comcast will still let you get anything but premiums with a cablecard and something like a Silicondust HDHR Prime. But it’s a pain in the ass.

Know what's odd?

I have been smelling the original old spice cologne since like 6am today, beginning at home.

This is not logical. 1) I don't know that there is any in the house, 2) I've left the house, 3) I'm allergic to fragrance and nothing I have used or have on has been near any fragrance for quite a long time, 4) I'm having no reaction to it.

I have always liked that scent so wonder if my mind just wishes for it.🤷‍♀️💘

I have some good news to share. Monday I'm starting at the Philadelphia Airport as Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations. The Airport is another City department, and because this is all happening before my last official day with OIT, I can do this as a transfer and maintain my vacation/sick time as well as service credit towards pension.

I'd like to thank everyone who's reached out over the last couple of weeks to help me during this strange time of transition. It meant a lot to me.

I've lost count of the number of flights I've been on where there is a parent going up and down the aisles asking people if they'd be willing to move because their 8 year old is in 32F and they are in 19B.

One of the weirdest things that happened to me early covid was, I celebrated my birthday at a bar near my house because it had outdoor seating.

I made myself a birthday cake and brought it with me. Basque cheesecake with miso caramel. I sent a piece to the bartenders, who shared it with their chef.

The chef marched out and insisted I should become a pastry chef. I ended up selling cakes to them for a bit, but I actually don’t love sweets so didn’t do it for long!
