Also, if some #security expert could help me understand...
If I am getting 100 or even 1000 spam emails a day... why not 1 million? Seriously.
The number staying at a roughly steady daily rate seems to imply only a few spammers are behind it and throttling their attack. So why then can't they be found and dealt with?
If it were unfettered I feel like I'd be seeing an unlimited amount of spam.
I found this track among dozens of tracks I made from the early 90s. It doesn't have a name so I can't find the DAW work file easily. This was digitized off a four-track. I used hardware synths but I don't recall which ones. (Is there a way to find out the synth model from sysex dump?)
The question is should I try to recover these lost tracks I made and clean up and record them digitally and release them?
👆 Oooo. Maybe what I do is... Release it as a Lime Bar retro album called Soma Holiday.
I like this.
@MusicProduction question. Supposing I can't find the files or don't have the necessary synth h/w to get a new clean digital recording... What's the best approach to cleanup the existing files digitized from 4-track cassette. You can hear tape hiss, definitely some muddy bass freqs, and other tape effects.
What processing would you apply. I've never done a rescue.
1- not only is there tape noise but bleed thru of some kind from... previous recording? other tracks? I dunno. so noise reduction can't possibly do it's job 100% because the hiss is conflated with this variable other stuff
I miss the Twitter from before. It was so deliciously bad for you, like cigarettes and hairspray and liquid cheese and all the best things. Now it’s like consuming PFAS.
@ryanhoulihan
They made the clothing from the wild Roebuck which would graze on the roofs of the store. At dusk you could hear them calling out across the parking lot, longing for the fields of home. Sad.
Sometimes the way people phrase things is so telling. For instance, telling women they should be "taking care of" their husband and children. Another adult doesn't need taken care of like a child, what you want is for women to be a Sex Mom.
So #Plex has a "sonic adventure" feature that lets you put in two or more songs then it fills in a playlist which selects tracks of sonically similar values leading from song to song until you reach the target using tracks from your collection.
Here is a playlist it generated going from Phoenix by The Tear Garden to Lisztomania by Phoenix.
I would not have created this playlist on my own.
Also it is fun to see #fedi artists pop up in playlists based on sonic thumbprint.
Castle In The Sky was so awesome in theater. Try to catch it if you can.
Before the movie they are showing a short ad for the #Ghibli theme park in Japan. I've noticed that it is slightly different each time, tailored to focus a little on the attractions related to the #film you are about to see. Attention to detail!
I've finally managed to get through the whole #Fedivision2024 playlist (72 songs, pant pant...). I was quite impressed with the quality, since I was expecting something more amateur-ish on average (like my crummy contribution).
Eventually, I took some notes and came up with a list of 11 #Fedivision tracks in particular that I liked more than the others, and so candidates for my three votes this week (I won't vote for myself).
Turns out, not only do I love reading the liner notes at https://fedivision.party as I listen to the tracks... I also love to read other people's threads & takes on the entries as I listen to those tracks.
I think this means I'm going to be spending lots of time online the next few days reading and listening. 😂
