For a couple standing hand-in-hand at the water's edge at Southend-on-Sea in 2015.

We went through a phase of staying at seaside resorts in the UK and if they had a pier then all the better, so it was only a matter of time before we visited this particular town in Essex, spending a few days at a B&B and using it as a base to explore the area.

If you've got any interest in or in general, or supporting the artistry of your fellow Fediverse citizens, then following the hashtag and the account @announce is something you might want to do.

Prepping photos for the next write-up on my site, digging into some of the phone photos taken when we visited the Garden Society of Gothenburg, and this rainbow-coloured bench really stood out so I figured, why not share it?

I'm pretty sure that the director of is telling the judges when the cameras are on them and giving them directions like "Davina, you're on. Wave your arms a bit and scream something a stalker might shout in the manner of someone straining on the toilet."

A thing I've seen floating around for a few weeks now and which appears to have been started by @liztai

City I dislike: (a town really, but I'm counting it)

City I think is overrated:

City I like:

City I love:

City I most feel myself in:

City I still need to visit:

I dream of living in:

Am I randomly clicking on , reading things, liking things, boosting things, finding a new hashtag, and repeating? Yes, yes I am. I heartily recommend it. I recommend you follow a lot of hashtags too. I recommend you often boost people you don't follow. I recommend you follow a lot of people you're not already following. I recommend you follow or ignore any or all of these recommendations and do your own thing.

As expected a wonderful evening with from last night.
It's the second time he's made the effort to come over and play here, apparently he's planning a third 😁

He managed to distract me from yet another infection in my mouth due to a fused tooth. It's finally out now on a second attempt. I'm just about to start a fourth dose of antibiotics which should finally see the back of it after 2 months!

@sharongascoigne Fourth dose of antibiotics! You are suffering a bit, aren't you?

This window for is in a fifteenth century farmhouse building at Manor Farm Country Park, Hampshire, presently decorated as it would have been when lived in during World War II.

For here's me climbing a tree with my younger brother below and my mum engaged in sensible adult behaviour with a rhinoceros sculpture in Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight, probably somewhere around 1980.

Blackgang Chine is the oldest amusement park in the UK and literally every child who was raised in Hampshire in the 20th century has been there, I guarantee it.

A castle for today, and this is Kronborg in Denmark, located in Helsingør, or Elsinore, and the setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet. We visited in 2017 and had an interesting guided tour from a local in Shakespearian costume complete with projections of ghosts on glass.

A reminder regarding the news about Musk and Neuralink is that his company isn't the first to put implants into human brains; it's simply the noisiest about it and inevitably the shittiest.

Went out for our lunchtime walk through the cemetery to feed the squirrels and crows again. Held out a nut for a squirrel, like we do, and he grabbed hold of my thumb and middle finger, scratching them, then sunk his incisors into the tip and just under the nail of my index finger, all drawing loads of blood.

So now you can say you were there on Mastodon when the events of my superhero origin story are turned into a movie.

And, also, there's a squirrel out there with a taste for humans now.

It's someone's job to point a camera at Taylor Swift all game, every game she attends. The is sitting on about a day's worth of video of a woman with her friends in a private booth. This is not healthy.

My weird guess for Air Fryer is Cate Blanchett with typically tenuous justification for it. Australian clues the week before. Nun reference this week.

neonbubble,
@neonbubble@mstdn.social avatar

@sharongascoigne Ah, we're resigned to being completely wrong with all our guesses already, but we still love the terrible detective work that's needed and then the sigh of despair when they explain why the number on the wall behind the person represents the number of syllables in the poem they sent to their childhood sweetheart at the age of seven and how didn't you spot that!?

A bit of positive thinking after making mistakes or when about to make a decision. Yeah, I think this counts as a tune for the theme this week, and it's also just a blindingly good piece of music by an incredible artist too. Bonus!

Today I learned why you're not allowed to use surge protectors on board cruise ships when you're travelling (they confiscate them if they're found).

Link to a US coast guard safety notice PDF:

https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/OCSNCOE/Casualty-Information/Safety-Alerts/CG-SA-03-13b.pdf

Effectively, the voltage on ships is often evenly split at the socket so protectors may trip on what they think is the hot wire surging but leave the other still live to potentially overheat and start a fire. Which is bad, m'kay.

There is a well-known statistical oddity called the Birthday Paradox that goes against everything you think should be true and demonstrates that you only need a group of 23 random people to make the odds better than 50:50 that two will share a birthday.

With that in mind, happy birthday @MathC and @theaardvark (and if she were still with us, my mum too).
