Alright, potentially weird request incoming: I want to make music inside a DAW, but want to do it programmatically (eg. by writing code that emits notes/MIDI events.)

What are my options?

(Yes, I know I can just steer my DAW via MIDI events. Looking for something more integrated. Yes, I also know of SonicPi.)

@mina Wir haben schon jetzt Gesetze die sowas regeln. Eigentum verpflichtet usw. Es ist die Frage wie die Umsetzung gesellschaftlich angesehen ist und vertreten wird. Papier ist geduldig, was die Menschen wirklich tun und glauben ist viel wichtiger.

Heutzutage fliegen nicht die besten und verdientesten zum Mond sondern die, die die meisten Leute verarscht und dem Staat das meiste Geld abgeknöpft haben. Die Aufwachsenden sind ja nicht dumm, die sehen das. @LordCaramac @GundelPundel

@LordCaramac Nee, das ist nicht zwingend, die dummen Ökonomen kriegen es anders nur nicht vernünftig hingerechnet. Lassen sich für ihre "Wissenschaft" feiern und ignorieren einfach die echten Folgen. So'n bischen wie bei verbleitem Treibstoff. @mina @GundelPundel

The longer I've been living in the big city, the more I've felt the need for a “what's going on?” app. Hundreds of people dressed like doctors just walked past me. What is going on? Is this a protest? Should I support it? What's going on lol

(and yes, I understand that if the local government would make their publicized list of declared protests more accessible this could easily be a thing)

@ErikUden Generally, how about an app that shows you all petitions, votums, funds and demonstrations, i.e. everything that allows you as a citizen to have influence? I'm sure companies and governments would hate it but I think it would be a good idea. Might be a bit hard to keep it politically neutral though.

Warum ist das Kündigen von DSL und Mobilfunk eigentlich noch immer so ein Problem?

Ich habe mich vor ein paar Tagen so gefreut, als ich in der App vom Anbieter las "Hier Kündigen" aber: das ist nur eine Vormerkung; du kriegst eine Mail mit der Aufforderung dort anzurufen, um die Kündigung final zu bestätigen, ...

Zwischenzeitlich habe ich 30 Minuten Lebenszeit in der Warteschlange verschwendet ohne durch gekommen zu sein...

A little advice about social media from someone who has been on social media since it has existed. You don’t have to argue. When someone wants to argue with you, you should block them. There is no good outcome possible from arguing on social media.

@davew Maybe consider that the problem is that these people already feel unheard. What they are missing is the opposite, actually being embedded into society. Blocking and ignoring is what creates them.

Physicist John Tyndall is often credited w discovering the greenhouse effect, which he wrote about in 1859.

But Eunice Foote published a paper - 3yrs earlier - demonstrating how atmospheric water vapor & CO2 affected solar heating. She theorized that heat trapping gases in Earth’s atmosphere warm its climate.

@Sheril It was just easier to take something from a woman back then. Theres many examples of this, just think Edison and Tesla. Who's name is first on a paper is another of these things. Often students make the discovery and their prof gets the credit.

As a parent of Black children I often find myself unconsciously forcing them to be smaller than they are when in public, to not be their full selves. Cos I know that if they play up, White society won't think "They're just kids being kids." Instead they'll think, "They're Black people being Black."

Every time I catch myself doing it I'm heartbroken.

@Radical_EgoCom Sadly this comment implies the belief that money is a real thing that could heal or feed people. Infrastructure and people do that, not money.

The reason they "hoard" (they don't) is just to stay ahead in the power game. And IMO the fact that its now billions just goes to show how far we are in the cycle. This thing is about to blow up as it does each time a certain group detaches itself too far from the rest.

I still cannot get over the wonder and mystery of what gall wasps can do to plants. This is bio-engineering! The wasp lays her egg and somehow the plant makes a structure that is not a fruit, it is not a seed, it is not a leaf or stem. It's a wholly recombinant architecture customized to the needs of the growing young larva. The plant provides food and shelter-- It's like a cancer, but with a purpose.

How did it evolve? How is it done!?

@richardgrant I think thats wrong and the whole internet uses the term exactly like Dawkins intended. Memes (as in internet memes) don't work if they are about e.g. just one person or one experience - they have to be an actual Meme (as in Dawkins Meme) to work universally and go viral. @Sheril

Das 40,00€ teurer gewordene Nachfolgeticket zum 9-Euro-Ticket soll Daten melken. Zwar solle das Ticket übergangsweise nicht nur für Smartphones erhältlich sein sondern auch auf Chip-Karten und kurzzeitig auf Papier mit QR-Code, aber wichtig scheint es den Regierenden vor allem anderen, dass mit dem 49€-Ticket Echtzeit-Verkehrsdaten erhoben werden können.

Positiv klingt zunächst: "Es werde nicht gespeichert, wer von A nach B fährt, sondern nur, wie stark die Verkehrsmittel ausgelastet sind. Für die Fahrgäste könnte das ein Nutzen sein, weil die Verkehrsunternehmen so für ausreichend Kapazitäten sorgen könnten."

Allerdings: Das Ticket wird wohl nur als Abo personalisiert erworben werden können, so dass darüber anfallende Personendaten zukünftig schnell integriert werden könnten. Mit Hinblick auf den aktuellen massiven Ausbau des Überwachungsstaats und der Kontrollgesellschaft in Deutschland und der EU (digitale Personenkennziffer/RegMod, Chatkontrolle, Identifizierungspflicht, Biometrie, eIDAS uvm) ist es doch auch gar nicht die Frage ob, sondern nur wann und mit welchem Vorwand (Anschläge, Pandemie, Jugendschutz, Wahlkampf) personalisierte Datenerfassung und Polizeizugriffe kommen werden, sobald die digitale Kontrollinfrastruktur erst einmal errichtet wurde.
