@ErikJonker @LiefhebberV Overheid kan nog veel meer doen met shared resource pools - cybersecurity is een uitstekend voorbeeld. Over de bestuurslagen heen is misschien een stap, maar al zouden de gemeenten maar meer samen optrekken.

    Credit card moet je apart aanvragen - dat is (even gekeken als onbezoldigd ASN ambassadeur 🙃) nu Visa (waarvoor ze in zee gaan met ICS, want ook dat doet ASN niet zelf)

    JAXA's Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) is getting ready for landing on the lunar surface tomorrow Friday Jan 19 at 15:20 UTC.

    The spacecraft, nicknamed the “Moon Sniper,” will demonstrate precision landing in a target area less than 100m in diameter, using real-time image recognition technology.

    The spacecraft will land on a sloping surface near the crater Shioli.

    SLIM carries a number of science instruments and will also deploy 2 rovers.

    Marys Peak: Camping Day 1

    I didn’t plan to hike 32 miles today, it just happened. Hiking sections of the Corvallis to Coast (C2C) trail this weekend. Made it from the edge of Corvallis to Marys Peak and back. I should have turned back sooner but I was halfway up the steep ascent to the peak so I had to commit. Haven’t seen anyone in the forest. So happy to be camping in December! So peaceful.

    Foggy meadow along the C2C trail. The meadow is closed for preservation and is light green with patches of bare dirt. Medium fog obscures the tall trees on the far side of the meadow.
    Grassy meadow leads to a ridge with bare spots with equipment. The Pacific Coast mountain range is in the distance. Blue skies with some gray on the right side.
    Foggy forest road on the C2C trail. Ferns, shrubs, and bare trees with moss covered branches are on both sides of the road. A long patch of light green grass separates the tire tracks. This road is behind a locked and requires a permit to enter. Light fog amongst the trees.

    ‘Shrooms of the day, from the tiny and cute to humongously large… feel free to shout out names, photo’s are from a hike in (North Western Europe)

    Small prototypical mushrooms, the cap slightly greenish yellow with a brown top. Growing in clusters on a fallen tree trunk
    Humongous leafy funghus, like the leafs of a cabbage but brown. Hard to judge scale but was easily 50cm in diameter and 40cm high. Brownish
    The most peculiar of the four, two canopies on a standing tree, one above the other, white at the bottom but powdery brown on top - asnif someone has dusted on cocoa powder

    Remember the 22 word statement about and human extinction & such? Its originator, the founder of, wait for it, the center for AI "Safety" says

    "Natural selection disfavors individuals who stop caring about acquiring more resources and expanding their influence. The individuals who always want more are selected for."

    Yea what we need to do is "build bridges" and "talk it out" with these people 🙄 next day after the "statements" he joins Elmo's grift, XAI or whatever bullshit its called.

    If you run a fediverse instance (Mastodon, Pixelfed, Calckey and others), would you ban a Meta instance?

    @dansup Not an instance host, but if I were I’d treat them as any other instance - by my instance’s federation rules.

    It’d be interesting to know (and part of decision) if they’d support migrating off their instance, whether they push their own client (lock-in?) and if, where and how algo is implemented.

    That said, I am hoping (and will advocate) that anyone in journalism, activism or who in general do not need corporate censorship or algorithms to avoid such instance as the plague.
