A little bit of internet history. Firefox 1.0 (project name "Phoenix") was released on November 9th 2004. On December 2nd 2004 this print ad was published in the German national newspaper FAZ (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung). Over 2400 people have donated nearly $60.000 at the time for this campaign. I was one of them (line 4).

These were exciting times. When you open your favourite browser today, think about how the world would look like without a free browser.

@pixelfed would be nice if one could exclude reblogs of your own pictures. I know nothing that needs to be done but still I would not mind not seeing my pictures in reblogs

Avoid accidental plot reveals and add some suspense to the everyday with spoiler effects.

Highlight text to put it behind spoiler animation. It’ll stay hidden until your friend taps on it to see what’s underneath.

Wieder nur Steine und Tränen in Form eines Gyrosauflaufs.

Lasagneform mit Reis und darauf eine Tomate-Paprika-Zwiebelsahnesauce und veganen Gyrosstücken überbacken mit veganenm Käse der leicht braun geworden ist.

I'm at a crossroads, and have some important decisions to make regarding the news of the app UI sunset.

I have no doubt that NativeBase will still be supported beyond the next few months, so:

I can move forward with feature dev and a public app launch next month (and delay refactoring)

or

I can start refactoring the app now, and delay public release and new features until the new year

@dansup I'd release now and use the fedi momentum to grow the userbase and then have an open source native app for both plattforms. Hopefully there are enough devs who can help but as tusky and antennapod both are really great native android apps I have no fear. iOS devs I guess there are plenty in the fediverse.

The new metro5 @pixelfed UI is coming along!

This is the sidebar, I set a limit of 8 items as more looks cluttered, and it makes it easier to navigate with just 8 I find.

The home/public/network feeds can be toggled at the top of the feed!

Thanks to the newish edit function in all my pictures now have alt-text. I'm close to having all images described in german and english. Thanks to @dansup for making inclusion easier to achieve!

Heute ein bisschen mit Fokus-Bracketing gespielt. 50 Bilder aus der Hand, dann in Darktable bearbeitet und mit align_image_stack und enfuse (--exposure-weight=0 --saturation-weight=0 --contrast-weight=1 --contrast-edge-scale=0.5 --gray-projector=l-star --hard-mask) kombiniert. Ich bin zufrieden mit den Ergebnissen des ersten Tests.

So ein besonderes Fahrzeug haben auch die erfahrenen Kolleginnen und Kollegen des Zollamts vorher noch nicht abgefertigt:

Ein Panhard & Levassor Type Q wurde von einem Sammler aus der Schweiz nach Hamburg gebracht, um bei einem Oldtimerhändler angeboten zu werden.

Unter den Kennern klassischer Automobile ist dieser Oldtimer mit 50 PS und doppelten Kettenantrieben eine absolute Rarität. Nur ein weiterer Typ Q mit 50 PS existiert.

@pixelfed maybe do some sneak peaks on Patreon or prioritization polls to make it more attractive. Currently it's good for people who really want to give money to the project but I think it can be made more attractive.
