Five stars: Elf Dog and Owl Head by M.T. Anderson and Junyi Wu (Illustrator) (2023) begins with a royal hunt in the Kingdom Under the Mountain from the perspective of a young elfhound. When the prey ends up outside the mountain and the hunt follows, the elfhound is separated and befuddled by a modern human mountain town.

Today, a very niche tip for RSS fans :rss:

As well as Mastodon's built-in hashtag following system, you can also follow hashtags through RSS instead:

  1. Search for a hashtag on a Mastodon server's website
  2. Add .rss to the end of the URL
  3. Use this URL as the feed address for that tag

For example to subscribe to #Dogs on mstdn.social you would use this address in your feed reader:

#introduction post? Hi, I'm Dan.
I don't generally do social media. And yet here I am. Trying out this Fedi thing,
excited to have a space where I can just be myself.

I'm recently self diagnosed #ActuallyAutistic, #PDA, #Aphantasia, #Anauralia & officially #ADHD (39yo, better late than never!)
It's been so enlightening to finally start learning and embracing who I really am.

Meeting other autistic people has been amazing and is helping me feel less alone.

Five stars: Steeped in Malice by Vicki Delany and Shaina Summerville (Narrator) (2023) is the fourth book in the Tea by the Sea mystery series. Lily Roberts is in need of new teacups for the tea room. She prefers antiques and finds a wonderful children's set featuring Beatrix Potter characters. But the very next day she has regrets when two different sisters and then her ex-boyfriend all want what was also in the basket.

I'm #autistic. The sound of the train blowing its horn as it passes my house makes me cover my ears in pain. But the throbbing bass of the engine that causes a deep pressure in my chest from the vibration makes me feel happy.

When I was a kid, I used to crank up the bass of my parents' stereo and sit directly against the woofer to feel that pressure. They would always yell at me to turn it down. I've always loved that feeling.
