A large part of the reason it took me 10+ years to come out as trans, despite my social circles being almost entirely queer: implicit transphobia from cis gay men and being denied access to a transfem support group for not expressing femme enough.

That cishet boy sitting alone in the corner might be gay. She might be trans.

Inclusion is always better than exclusion. Let’s stand up for each other. 💜🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I’m coming to understand my transition not just being my expression, but also my identity. I think of my whole life as being my transition, with multiple steps.

For instance I don’t want to remove my past self’s autonomy by saying I’ve actually always been X. I identified as and called myself a cis man, so I was. I was a cis man who wanted to be a woman. To remove that part of my journey feels inauthentic and I could say it was trauma but that’s a dangerous road to go down. ⬇️ #Trans
