The funny thing about Microsoft's new Recall feature is how little actual "AI" it's doing. It's basically just making automatic screen captures, then running OCR and image recognition to create a semantic index you can search. Unless I'm missing something, there's no LLM (or small language model) used in it. Maybe in parsing queries?

Idea: It'd be cool if there was a post type that was only visible to those who follow a certain hashtag. Like if you wanted to live-toot an NBA game you could tag it with (for example) #nba and only others who follow it will be notified.

• I think it is somewhat a factor of what kind of poster/engager you are and what audience is most interested in the types of things you post. i.e. the general Mastodon crowd being non-trivially different than the threads crowd for example.

Hey #webdesign #webdev folks, I'm looking for an example of an HTML “Style guide" page for a website. I've seen some blogs that sport this in the past but can't for the life of me find one again or Google for it. It's basically just a simple page on a site that has examples of all (or most) HTML elements and how they are styled for that site. I could just make one myself but would prefer to boostrap the process by getting a pre-made one to start and tweak from there. Thanks!

I've wanted to revamp my site’s Search capability for a while now. Up until recently, I've used super-search.js which came bundled with the #Jekyll theme I chose years ago. It’s fast but only seems to index a small portion of each page so if I want to search full-text in longer-bodied posts I was out of luck (I tried tweaking it but was unsuccessful, which isn't to say it can't be done by a more competent / patient tinkerer). #indieweb #webdev #IndieWebChat #ssg

@ivory The "choose account" picker option when replying to a mastodon post from a different account than the one you are currently on never seems to work for me. I always get an error, though the "star" from another account does work. Any thoughts? Thanks!! 💙

@ivory #bugreport I noticed if I use the "reply from" picker and choose to reply from an account on a different instance it doesn't carry over account suffixes (I.e. @[instance]).

For example: if I find a post on posted by someone with an @ mastodon.social handle and reply to it using the picker from my handle on infosec.exchange, it will only carry over the @[handle] and not @[handle]@[instance] which is needed to properly address that account from the infosec.exchange instance.
