Watched a video on the new Toyota Camry and one of my favorite examples of car brain rot are the folks who still cling to cylinder count as the be-all-end-all.

They dropped the V6 option and now they're all hybrids.

Nevermind that it's making the same power as a V6 Camry from 20 years ago while also getting probably double the fuel economy, the crowd says "oh noooo 4 is less than 6"

Literally all they consider is the number of splodey holes. It's so tiring.

@mrundkvist in Norwegian "I can suffer it". But the grammar looks weird, which combined with the lack of 'ä' leads most people to understand it's Danish.

There's a bit of a storm going on outside, with winds momentarily up to 30 m/s, and around 17 m/s on average (gale force). I don't feel like cooking, and I'm considering ordering something. But maybe it's a bit mean to the people actually having to deliver it. 😬

In my last video, I probably should have included an image of what "in conduit" means. So here's the outlet in my kitchen island, and what's inside the cabinet.

All electrical work around Chicago is done like this even in residential construction. Armored cabling is sometimes allowed and is much easier for a DIYer. I've worked with it before, though, and it still sucks compared to Romex!

@TechConnectify that's a lot of metal... In most of Europe (AFAIK), the norm is flexible PE plastic conduit. Makes it so much easier to build and maintain wiring.

TW: Mild discussion of chronic health issues and grief.

I really miss being able to play MMO's, especially . I cannot cognitively keep up with worlds like that anymore and it makes me sads.

Everything feels like a job, a chore, a huge undertaking. When I can only spend about an hour a day playing a game (thanks, health)... that's just not it for me anymore. No more long play sessions.

Does anyone else out there feel this sort of grief related to ?

@britt not really "illness" related as such, but I'm grieving for the loss of my ability to keep up interest in specific games. Before, I could play a single game for months. Nowadays I start playing something and hyperfocus on it for weeks, but within a month I'm sick of it and can't make myself play. My interest usually does come back in time, but by then I can't get back into the same game with the same people because it'll be finished or progressed too far for me to be able to catch up.

@forteller @ofseleg høres ut som en god plan. Da kan vi bygge tunnel fra Florida til Skuteviken, og få ekspress gjennom sentrum og en bane som betjener sentrum godt. Staten betaler selvsagt 90%.

    Goddammit season 2 of Foundations is great. I'm annoyed at the end of every episode because it's the end of the episode. Only one more to go, and the suspense is killing me. Please don't let it be another two years until the continuation!

    But yeah, if you've only read the Bokmål translation, you're in for a treat with the original English. Just make sure to get a post-2004 copy, as there were several long standing errors and omissions fixed in that edition.
