Time to move off has finally come. So many to choose from, though. Makes my head spin 😵

I need one with:

  1. Great support (maybe get that webcam working finally)

  2. Smooth & slick / (I'm less of a terminal guy)

  3. Focus on , security-first approach (but not the ones that are made for James Bond)

What do you suggest?

Just because someone specializes in something you don’t like doesn’t mean they’re some kind of villain.

A lawyer specializes in advising and defending AI model creators? Tough titties: somebody has to do that job, and everyone deserves representation in a court of law. It’s better if someone specializes and knows the ins and outs.

A former Twitter cofounder did business as an angel investor and maybe some VC stuff? Okay, in what capacity? A guy who has repeatedly started companies giving his insights to new startups doesn’t have to be this malicious, predatory thing.

But no, half of you hear “Masto board has Twitter guy and AI/Blockchain bro”, and the community immediately erupts into hysterics while doing exactly zero research on any of these people.

I know your problem all too well. Sometimes I feel I am copying/pasting between channels more than doing other things. Luckily that is about to wind down a bit, together with winding down my advocacy activities.

It may be indeed be a good idea. Though currently there's not a proper "semantic" overlap, if you will. Delightful project can have lists on anything, but is not federated.

(Note: Both on integrated channels as well as delightful project I have fedi ideas pending)

Yesterday I attended a @commonsnetwork organized event in The Hague about #Government and building #DigitalCommons, and among the crowds of representatives of many different institutions there, there was A TON of interest for decentralized #SocialWeb technologies.

If there's opportunity, it is now.

involves the devious practice of passing people 💩 turd sandwiches wrapped in glossy paper, and have the recipient be happy and surprised when opening them.

Because only outward packaging is all that matters, the superficial layer. Hypercapitalism aggressively teaches to look no further. To not see deeper value and meaning. For its practioners, which we all are to an extent, superficiality is thus the "Return on Lack of Investment" we get in return.

We may value more.

However, it is still a puzzle in a 1,000 little pieces waiting to be laid out correctly. And whomever starts to connect larger chunks of the greater picture, will meet the toxic bully that is always somewhere around: The festering Beast of . Storming in, scattering pieces, shattering .

I totally feel that that is the way forward for social networking. I always compare to real life, and witness precious few people there who like to stand shouting from public squares. 😄
