Do you know @Flipboard?
It’s a really nice service for getting news for a wide range of topics.
In the past when my iPad was still mine exclusively I used the #flipboard app A LOT. It's like a magazine you can flick through 😍
Flipboard is federating since some time already!
This is simply amazing, because you can follow certain topics via your favourite #fediverse / #mastodon client and curators get interact with readers.
@erimas42 hmmm okay, not sure why an ULA registry is necessary when the addresses are only used locally... but good hint, so I could setup ULAs and see what happens
Look into it for encrypted backup and restore via a variety of target protocols.
FYI even the latest #macOS includes #cron for scheduling tasks. You just need to give it (/usr/sbin/cron) file system access permissions to be able to execute a script. (Cmd+shift+G after clicking the + in the security settings).
there's something weird about git branches that "a branch is just a reference to a commit" does not capture and I've been struggling with it for weeks
like in this diagram I think most people would say that there are 3 branches (corresponding to the 3 commits at the top of the diagram), though technically in git you could have 0, 3, or 100 branches here, and it's not labelled so you have no way to know how many branches there are
Looks like #Netgate#pfSense Plus for Home+Lab will no longer be free. For getting further updates on your installation you will need a TAC subscription.
Who would have thought this would happen 🤔
I still highly recommend #OPNsense. Switched a year ago and really never looked back.
I'm looking for a rock solid < 15W pfSense box, that doesn't cost a fortune.
I could go with one of the various N5105 or N100 aliexpress “firewalls” + USB watchdog timer, but not sure how reliable that hardware is for just sitting there without being touched for months. Plus would always worry about the damned things catching on fire.
Other choice is actually a Mac Mini 2014, I know they are reliable, won't catch on fire and sip power. But no hardware watchdog option on these…
