Tell me a silly/funny childhood story!

I'll start:

One time in Sunday School, the teacher was talking about the difference between humans and animals, and mentioned that Animals had Tails and humans didn't. I let her know this was not true, because my Dad had a tail, just in the front, instead of the back. The teacher was silent for several seconds, and tried to correct me in a church appropriate way, but I doubled down, and insisted that my little brothers also had front tails too. This got so heated that the teacher had to go get my parents to take me out of Sunday School.

I talk to people from the UK pretty regularly, I watch a lot of BBC programming, I read a lot of books by authors from the UK, but sometimes they will suddenly use a word I've never heard in my life, and I'm beginning to think they are pranking us, and every other person from the UK is in on the joke, and just validates whatever the other person says!

Hey all. What's been your personal mental health game changers?
I'm in a low place, although less anxious than before - more depressed than maybe ever before. Two sides of the same coin I suppose. Just want to focus on my art and independence but it's getting harder and harder to believe in myself.
There are many things that have worked for me in the past that I abandoned and doing my best to get back into. I wonder if there's more I haven't tried and maybe should.

I made some progress on the mostly-salvaged ebike (e-xpand-o-bike bike) today, but for the second day in a row, rain that was not forecast has showed up in earnest, and I am going to have to stop working on it for the time being.

Long night so far.

A call from my sister just after midnight that she’d taken mum to the hospital.

Been holding bedside vigil while sister goes home and gets some sleep. Doctors running tests and whatnot. Morphine for the pain. Machines that go “bing”.

It’s about 4:30am and mum’s snoring with a plethora of tubes and wires.

Eyes are heavy. Chair is uncomfortable. The nurses showed me where I could make a cup of coffee for myself.

Feeling sad. Had to bid farewell to a beloved friend for a long time, which was hard for both of us, and then my parents arrived for a visit and didn’t seem happy to see me, as they’re not dealing well with my probable plans to move to another state. My friend who I usually share this kind of stuff with in detail has withdrawn into a funk of his own, so I guess for now it’s just me and you people. Thanks for being there; it helps to see the whimsical things you’re doing and thinking about.

If you had a special blanket or stuffed animal or imaginary friend or whatever, care to share a name? My blanket was Blankey. My imaginary friends were mostly unrelated and came from books, by the main thing is that I belong with my people, imaginary or otherwise (equally real).
