I was recently gifted an iFixit screwdriver kit that doesn't include any regular hex drivers. Is everything just Torx now? Did I miss one of the Secret Meetings?

That said, Phillips heads were included, which is great because products use those. Yay!

@PKL Torx has better grip at smaller sizes so for their Precision kits especially that smaller one, it’s more common than hex. On their larger sets and their standard size driver, hex is standard issue 😄

Got a little rig for recording short interviews at conferences with stuff I already had lying around

Not sure how well the short shotgun mic will work though. Thinking of picking up one of those wireless lav mics that are all the rage now. Any recommendations? (preferably cheap)

Does anybody actually use the term "Personal Area Network" and abbreviate it PAN? I've seen that a couple times lately in my college class, and in almost 30 years in this field I don't think I've ever heard it in practice.

Search for "debian hamster" on DuckDuckGo and got some questionable results... which apparently, are from Bing. No, no, Bing, I was searching for "Debian Hamster" (which is a work related time tracking tool for tracking time spent on projects). Not this other search. But, SURE, let's throw LLMs at your crappy search data instead, that will fix the problem, I am sure. #Linux #SearchEngine #crappy

@ai6yr @DodoTheDev so I’m not gonna like “skill issue” you because Bing is garbage, but in this case it’s really your wording. For all we know lots of people serch porn on Bing and it’s a good guess on their part.

I see that I reversed the words and got exactly what you wanted, so I’m thinking it’s your phrasing. “Hamster for Debian” “hamster .deb” and “hamster Linux software” are all better searches than “Debian hamster”. First word before hamster would generally be breed anyway.

True story: we went to replace a @mikrotik today but the new one wasn’t provisioned right. We put the old one back in and it works fine.
