Almost half of the #Friday has gone by, so I believe this is the right time to start thinking about the #weekend, and what better way of doing so than talking about the videogames you'll play during the next days?
Join the other patrons at https://live.gamerstavern.online and get ready for some stealth (cough) fun action with Ratto and Alex, playing Vampire the Masquerade: Justice!

Hold onto your hats everyone, it’s another #TheGamersTavern announcement!
In the last month we migrated every service onto #OVHCloud's infrastructure (https://www.ovhcloud.com/) to be compliant with the EU GDPR normative regarding private data protection, and while we were at it we decided to upgrade a bit here and there. And here we are, with a new #Eco Server (made by recycled parts from other servers, how neat is this?!?!) to help us host our own #Peertube instance!
The instance is already federated into a solid network of other certified and verified #Peertube instances, amounting around to 45k videos, and our amazing staff is already at work, moderating our own.
We decided for the time being to not freely open subscription to the whole #Fediverse as this will require getting new space and a more powerful machine, boosting the prices. We will consider that when we'll get there.
My main goal for today is looking for a good DaVinci Resolve alternative for Linux and nuke my old Windows partition (after checking I saved my files somewhere)
@greenvahn Tales of Arise is in my backlog too 😅 I guess you could predict the era I put that in from the backlog stratification, pretty much like fossils.
Looks amazing though and make me wanna try it on the Steam Deck, is it possible?
@thegamerstavern It works very well on the deck, most of the time over 40-60fps so very smooth experience.
It was getting dusty in my backlog so I decided to give it a chance and the game is visually beautiful with entertainment story. Combat system can be chaotic sometimes but still great mechanics.
Last night I got back to #Helldivers2 and I must admit that the latest patch isn't working for me.
Even at the "Challenging" level the environmental hazards are just an instantaneous and often unavoidable death.
Feeling more like a "Ok lol you dead, kk thx bye" than a nice addition to the depth of the game.
Yes, the game is hard and it will getting harder, but this new addition is just...frustrating.
Gonna take a hiatus until the devs clarify if this behavior is exactly what they wanted or they just did an oopsie.
An oopsie is understandable, although they should have tested this before enabling it for everyone.
Pure sadism in developing a game is what I don't understand and that's the reason why I steer miles away from Elden Ring and soulslike game.
I love myself and gaming should be fun, not punishing.
@thegamerstavern@mybarkingdogs I'm easily twice the average age of the #EldenRing player base and originally fired it up just out of interest in what the kids are into these days. Never played a #FromSoft title before, don't enjoy experiences that suck as an ersatz skill filter.
I finished it (hundreds of hours later).
It's the most beautiful game I've ever played. It's hugely challenging, but it gives you almost limitless ways to play the style you want to. Jaw dropping on every level.
If you're new to #Mastodon or the #Fediverse, remember that supporting the service you're using is a good practice and we should pick up this habit, of course if you have the chance. Freedom from the data market's fuckeries comes with a price, the self hosting price.
